    Judging Scimitar Horned Oryx

Great hunt and great looking animal!!! Here in Mexico we have a lot of ranches that have them and offer a fair chase experience, even though fenced, I know a couple and the quality is great and the prices are way way more accesible than in the US, I know specially of two ranches that I have...

    Favorite Rifle

My favorite rifle is a 7mm Rem Mag my dad gave me as a gift, Interarms action, beautiful walnut stock, and made just to my arm-cheek-etc measurements...I've killed 90% of my big game trophies with it. (Not approximately; literally 90%, 18 out of 20...just not counting pigs and peccari). But...

    458 Lott

I woulkd seriously consider buying the rifle if it weren't a big problem, I live in a country where it's not legal to import firearms, it's a shame but too bad for me! Really nice rifle and caliber too, why sell it?

Cual calibre prefieres y por que? 280 Ackley Imp. o 7 mm. RM

    The .375 and Leopard - I need a bullet

Hello my friend this is my humble opinion on the matter: In the first place I agree with you (Clearthorn) 100%! But here are my notes in this matter anyway Given a chance I would shoot my Leopard with a lesser caliber, with more shock power and very fast opening bullets like a Ballistic Tip...

Cual calibre prefieres y por que? 280 Ackley Imp. o 7 mm. RM

Calhoun, I'm sure someday you'll shoot a monster! I myself am heading to the Eastern Cape next Summer and even though I know there are no huge kudu there, I hope I get an old boy, a good mature male is what I'm interested first and foremost, if it comes with a huge set of horns so be it, but...

Kudu Bull Over 60 Inches Pictures

Thank you Safari Hunter!! Yeah it's a monster of a kudu shoot probably in 1984 or 85 at the most by my father. If I recall correctly it was with Jan Oelofse hunting safaris, that Kudu was the biggest kudu shoot by a Mexican hunter for a long long time and for all I know it still is, at least...

Kudu Bull Over 60 Inches Pictures

Here's a very big Kudu shot in Namibia, free range in the early eighties, when as I understand, there were not many fenced land. I don't recall the exact measurements, but if it's not 60+, it's pretty darn close!

    Bullets Choices for 375 H&H Multi-Species Hunt

Hello my friends, Another good choice I think, that nobody has mentioned so far, is using Nosler Partitions for everything except Elephant, and may be posterior shoots for Buffalo, and Solids for Elephant and post-shoots on the Buff, both 300 grain. There are some advantages to this I...

    identify an old .375

Looks like an old Mauser modified action, or maybe a Model 70 Winchester by the way the Safety appears, but I dunno...It's difficult to judge by just looking, if you relly want to but it, either go with your gut or take it to a very good gunsmith! Good luck!

    identify an old .375

Sound pretty custom made to me my friend I would personally, investigate more about the rifle and may be take it to a Gunsmith so he can help me further, may be it's one of those rare opportunities to buy one heck of a rifle at a relatively low price! You never know what jewel of a rifle you can...

Nyala or Kudu - Which is your favourite?

I really love them both but for me it's a mixed fellings kind of thing, let me explain: I you ask me which one do I think is more beautiful and if you were only allowed one of the two in your life, which would you take, I would have to go for Kudu. But if you asked me and said "Andres, I am...

I really am very happy to have joined this forum because it's always a pleasure to share hunting and shooting with fellow enthusiasts!
