Yes I think those coastal areas are very diverse as far as hunting from tropical jungle, open plains to tidal salt flats and sandy rivers it just adds to a very unique experience.
Ben I’m not here to debate this issue, I offer exclusive hunting on large vast unfenced and wild areas that I don’t share with multiple outfitters the same as New Zealand and built my reputation on such.
Toby if you could shoot me an email I can get a package together for you, I have been guiding Buffalo for the last 10 years now that works in well with New Zealand and did my apprenticeship under Australia's most experienced and professional Buffalo Outfitter hunting in the traditional style...
Dwayne from Canada had wanted to hunt Red Stag since a young fella. So he had saved up, we made the trip with his wife a sight seeing package also around the South Island.
And he shot a giant Red Stag. As he said. I`m only going to shoot one Red Stag in my life I may as well hold out for that...
Himalayan Bull Tahr shot placement
Bull Tahr would have to be pound for pound one of the toughest big game mountain animals to bring down for 2 reason, long hair over the body and bone structure. Pre rut some of the Bulls in their prime will weigh in at excess of 300 lbs especially on private...
Yes mate it’s a good shot alright as long as that’s exactly where it goes as a few inches off is stomach. I’ve based this off 12 years guiding, 35 years hunting and still learning. I have found this is the perfect shot on average that will also allow some small movement a few inches either way...
Red Stag shot placement
Like many of the deer species the lungs and heart are in the lower quarter of the Red Stag, approximately the size of a dinner plate. Judging half way going off the top of the shoulder and bottom of the chest you should aim slightly under half way. Being more of a medium...
Shot placement on Australian Water Buffalo
Water Buffalo are an amazingly tough animal with mud caked skin up to 2 inches thick from the front of the shoulder up to the neck. Often underestimated and under gunned by many a Bull in his prime will be 600-800 lbs heavier than its cousin the...
As you know shot placement is everything. But these guys are incredibly tough with thick skin and long hair, the main calibers I have in camp for clients are 7mm mag.
Theres a reason why the quality of our Stags is second to none in the world, and with our main property heavily covered in forestry and native vegetation it can really make a differance to not only the stalk, but darken the antlers.
Alaskan hunter Joe after 3 days of glassing, and climbing is successful with outstanding 8 year old 12.5 inch Bull Tahr. As his wife waited back at the lodge for their adventure two continue it came down to the wire on the last morning. But that's what hunting is all about, no guarantees, but...
Reece on his second hunt with us, and second Bull Tahr. This guy is an 8 year old Bull, with 13 inch horns. You can tell that buy counting the rings on the horns + the lamb tips. A Bull is considered mature and a trophy when he reaches 6 years old. On private land exclusive to New Zealand...
An exceptional 9 inch 10 year old Chamois Buck Reece also took on the same hunt. We are lucky enough to use roads on these properties as they are extensive working sheep and cattle ranches. Without having to use a helicopter means we can move about freely without other hunters in the area...
The Fallow Bucks are now in full rut. A very much underestimated hunt we live right in the largest population of Fallow deer in the South Pacific. With that 1 in maybe 50 Bucks will become a big old trophy. So careful management on private land is essential to cull out those Bucks that won't...
