    Favorite .375 bullet for Buffalo?

300gr in swifts, tsx, North fork and GS custom in 265gr! These put the hammer down. 350's are not great for all round and your barrels twist needs to be able to stabilise them. I found they bend ...

Zambia - New Hunting Destination! Buffalo Hunting Package special!

Johnny, 38" is very possible. Plains game; Roan, Kudu, Zebra, bushbuck, impala, bushpig, warthog, duiker and Klipspringer. I've been told there is eland and waterbuck but I will have to verify that myself this season and if that's that case then explore the possibility of getting them on quota.

Johnny, Thou its difficult give a guarantee and say you will shoot a such and such buffalo. All things considered I expect a hunter to get an old bull of 36" and up. I have seen two buff over 40" in one group of twelve bulls. One of those was over 42" but not quite 44". This is without being in...

Zambia - New Hunting Destination! Buffalo Hunting Package special!

Gordon, The distance is 530km give or take a few. 430km odd to Lusaka - Petauke. Petauke to the bottom end of the reserve is 105km on a Secondary road gravel road, actually a short-cut used to South Luangwa National Park instead of going all the way to Chipata then to Mfuwe. The Lusaka stretch...

    .460 Weatherby whats your opinion

Norwegianwoods, I'm waiting for mine eagerly;) 460 can handle a 200 yard back up shot on a departing elephant/buffalo with a better than good chance of stopping it and vastly aiding speedy a recovery. At close range it is also awesome! From a professionals point of view I believe that we have to...

    .460 Weatherby whats your opinion

Get a 460 built by a very good rifle builder and not some hack. Wiebe, American Hunting Rifles are prime examples or get Westley Richards. You won't need a break. MagnaPort is a form of brake however its not as nasty as the rest and does not have a debilitating effect like a conventional brake...

    .460 Weatherby whats your opinion

Not a fan of the Weatherby rifle in 460 however a 460 built on a solid action, well configured stock of the appropriate weight coupled with the right ammo its devastating! A true all round backup rifle in country where one may encounter anything/circumstance. If someone is willing to learn to...

    .505 Gibbs Your Opinion

Bert the Turtle Very good thought to keep in mind. When you touch off that shot there is going to be recoil no matter what so make it count. I've over done it in the past and had a few things I used to say to myself. Squeeze squeeze Squeeze.. or let the recoil rock you. LOL

AH Veteran, Very very sound advice. Thank you Harrison E take his advice. People tend to over do things particularly in the beginning and this can have negative results. Big boomers are serious learning curve. Before you shoot - Work on your setup/stance until it becomes natural. Setup is the...
