    What’s your spookiest hunting experience?

Walking in the pitch black I heard a bear exhale, a low guttural exhale, you know your close when lol Sitting in a pop up tent hunting, everything quiet, relaxed, no wind taking in the scenery and enjoying the moment when a squirrel jumped on the tent Chances are I jumped a little higher with...

If I know we can cut and wrap I load up a small freezer with a small generator. Trip to Newfoundland for moose had 3 freezers in the truck and worked great. I also head down fishing off the coast of NC and use the same freezer, will use the food saver to portion the fish and pop them into the...

    Butter tart recipes?

I wish I knew where a special little cook book was, between moves its been misplaced or tossed, had a killer recipe for butter tarts. For those in the Minden or surrounding area, there was a little cult group called "the ant hill kids" Now as wacky as a guy that Roch was, he sent out his ladies...

First Trip to DSC Convention and meeting outfitters

A good sense of humour is what I looked for, I knew I would be spending time with the PH for the week and enjoy some good fun. So along with the normal questions I asked one that carried a bit more weight, as the answer would give me a sense of that person. Is a zebra white with black stripes...

    Alberta or Saskatchewan Whitetail Hunt

Likely the case up by Dryden, but certainly not the case in Rainy River since you need a guide in that area compared to Dryden. That helps keeps hunters numbers lower I have hunted there for about a dozen years, just wish I was closer to do a bit more work on my property

My F150 had this happen to a lesser extent, that's when I found out the wiring "cover" that used to be plastic is made from Soy - to be more eco friendly I guess

    USA: First Fenced Hunt

I did a buffalo hunt last year and knew it was a fenced hunt, I went in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. I told the outfitter that I expect to walk through the barn and shoot a buffalo in the paddock, anything more than that exceeds my expectation lol I knew it was a meat...

What do you all think this bear?

Skull might score decent, but not huge, and based on the skull I would say a sow as well When you have a perfect triangle from ear to ear to nose, that is a big skull, but this one is long in the face

Weird stuff to bring for tips / gratuities

When we went I asked about this, but it was suggested that we stop in the local town store and purchase the school supplies there. Made sense as we then also helped out the local economy as well as the school. Think we almost cleared out all they had for the school

If this is lion hunting…. You can have it

Watch this for fun and without foundation or facts I knew a guy who shot a deer with a gun and it got away, happens more frequently with guns than with archery equipment I have arrowed a few bears, one dropped within sight less than 15 yards, another 50 yards, my son stuck one and it went 300...

Forget Cape Buffalo when we have these monsters at home

One thing I noticed on my hunt, the second buff we shot, my buddy shot a little low, follow up shot from our third guy eventually put the cow down, the other buff came around and literally propped her up, trotted off with the cow between 2 bulls, she couldn't fall down if she tried being propped...

I will say they are a deceiving animal, here are 2 pictures of the same animal, poor picture in the first, the herd was literally 100 yards away and we were being very watchful as they didn't seem to care for us much And then hanging up being skinned and ready for the cooler

Lots of private land up there in Bancroft area, used to moose hunt in Maynooth and deer hunt in Barrys Bay (even lived in Maynooth for a short spell) The elk move and can be found miles away from Bancroft, rolling hills, lots of bush and farms thrown in the mix. In reference to that teacher, the year before he was reprimanded and almost fired for "toxic masculinity" as he wasn't towing the "woke" line about them/they crap, this was his way to show how ludicrous that was, the school and board had to follow their own rules now and protect him.
