    Browning Safari 7x57

Those rifles runs from late 50 to late 70 In my opinion they are top quality I own one in 270 and is extremelly accurate, after I got it from an american hunter I customized the stock to my needs, shavings some ounces of unnecesary wood (circassian walnut from Iran)and became my mountain rifle...

Ruger No1. in 9.3x62 good Africa Rifle??

I prefer a medium sporter configuration in a 9,3 cal. The tropical is much heavier......

Ruger No1. in 9.3x62 good Africa Rifle??

Excellent caliber for the bush, less kick than de 375, the Accubonds in 250 gr and the 286 A-frames are top choices. Good ballistics up to 250-270 yards. The actions of the Nコ1 are super strong but I always prefer a bolt action rufle in case you need a fast follow-up shot

    she's here!!

It is a beauty !!!! Stock looks great..... I am from Argentina and even here you donnot cross with one in such a good condition us yours every day. I wonder if you after the 9,3 x 62 go for a Swedish in 6,5 x 55 ?????

Get some Norma factory ammo and have a lot of fun. If you are planning to reload, Hornady bullets (.312) gave better results than Sierra (.311)

    308 win for blue wildebeest

I say yes, the 308 win is perfectly capable to take wildebeest and you will have more chances if you keep the distances under 200 yds. Norma produces high quality ammo I recommend you A-frame in 180 gr as the best choice, other options are the Alaska, Orix or Vulcan all in 180 gr.

Hunting Africa - which rifle to take?

Welcome to AH ! If you donnot flinch the 375 HH or the Ruger is the best all around options and is fast enough with a 270 gr bullet to fly with a trayectory similar to the 30.06 with 180 gr bullet in orther to take PG up to 250 yards. Better suited to engage big cats, eland, zebra and gems...

    The .41 magnum

I consider them (41 and 44 mag) in the same level of performance, if you are not a reloader is a litle bit harder to feed a 41 mag revolver.
  14. P

    Only One

The Ruger carbine in 375 or 416 Ruger is ideal for what you are looking for.....

What is the Perfect Plains Game rifle? and what is too much?

300 WM with 200 gr A-frames, 375 H&H with either A-frames or Partitions in 270/300 gr, 9,3 x 62 in the 250/286 gr range will do the job done !!!! With the giraffe I do recommend the neck shot for a good instant clean kill.

    7x57 Owners....educate me

The 7 x 57 receives it well earned fame based on the penetration they got in game from those long ogives, If you are planing to hunt big plains game, you have to go for premium bullets in 160 gr.

.270 Winchester, .308 Winchester & 300 Winchester Magnum Ammo Advice needed.

I agreed with Grumulkin and If you are planning to hunt Zebra and Orix with 130 gr bullet from a 270 win, you have to use premium bullet in orther to achive penetration in those massive bodies (Barnes TTSX and Swift A-frame would be my choices).

Short range grouping evaluation of 4 premium ammunitions in 9.3x62 mm caliber in a Blaser R8

A- frame bullets are top performers in Agrican game, I personally prefer them over the Barnes X

Short range grouping evaluation of 4 premium ammunitions in 9.3x62 mm caliber in a Blaser R8

Iliked how the Blaser CDP bullet grouped, a winner by a small margin over the others

    Best Pig Rifles and Ammunition

20 inch barrell 308win. with handloads (170gr flat points(30-30WCF bullet) interlocks from Hornady over 43 gr of Reloader 15 and CCI 200 primers). I do only head, neck or shoulder shots and the results are devastating on pigs
  34. P

    Nosler Accubonds in Africa?

They do it just right, on tough game I choose A-frame that gives more penetration and higher weight retention
  35. P

    KUDU RIFLES

I took my biggest Kudu with acustom 8 x 57 with Norma Alaska 196 gr bullets at 32 yards. If you donnot strech to far the shots you can take yours with a well place 180 gr bullet from yours 308 win, the 9,3 will gives you a litle more confident to take difficult shots in the bush.
  36. P

300 yard eland shoulder shot with a .308 - would you take it?

maybe you have to think the other way.... At 170-180 yards a bullet (180 gr) fired from a 300 win mag rifle has the same speed as one fire from a 308 at the muzzle. And if you think 300 yards is the max distance to shoot and Eland with a 300 win mag, you have to get at least a 100 yards closer...

    200gr A-Frames in .300 Win Mag

You did it right, perfect combination (caliber-bullet) for the big antilophes
  38. P

300 yard eland shoulder shot with a .308 - would you take it?

The name of the game is penetration, inside the 200 yard mark with 180 gr A-frame bullet pushed hard is possible, I`ve seen it!!

    KUDU RIFLES

in bush country the CZ550 carbine in 9,3 x 62 is perfect or the 375 Ruger carbine could work as well, in open country 8 x 68S, 300 Weatherby or even 375 H&H with 270 bullets do it right.
  40. P
