Hey guys, Headed for on my 4th safari in May and wanted to see if you all knew what the current import status of Bontebok and Hartman's Mountain Zebra (hunted in SA) was? I know Bontebok had been backed up the last year or so and wasn't sure if Hartman's mountain zebra were importable to the...
Thanks for the info guys. I hunted with Huntershills in the Eastern Cape but the black wildebeest was actually taken at Comre Safaris which they own now.
Thanks Brad. Again I don't know much about them as far as judging goes. Length wise he seems very good and I was intrigued to see how he compares with other big ones. Looking forward to the pic
Hey guys, I just got home from my second safari in Africa and the more I look back one particular trophy it stands out in trophy quality and I wanted your opinions. I shot a black wildebeest that regardless of inches I am ecstatic about and since I don't take a tape measure on my hunts (as that...
Hey Guys,
I'm headed to hunt in the Eastern Cape in March. I have been using Paul Smith at Relive Taxidermy for my dip and pack, but he is not able to take any animals at this time. So I am looking for suggestions on a fair price and reputable Dip and Pack Company.
Thanks in advance for...
Dip and pack total was $1,149. That is $95 per animal for Cape and skull for 11 animals and $104 for crating.
Freight was $983 from Joberg to Atlanta.
Coppersmith was $350 for clearing plus $150 for something else... not sure what for.
Trophies arrived this past Thursday. Everything was well packed and the skulls looked better than I expected since they are going to be shoulder mounted rather than Euros.
Thanks. Yeah I'm just looking forward to having them back.
So basically from what I am reading I should likely expect that they are in Atlanta now and it may be another 2 weeks or so (best guess) before they are cleared. Thanks everybody
All I was asking is for an idea of time. I was not asking out of concern that something had happened... I am just excited to get my animals home and see how long the process usually takes as this is the first time going through the process. Coppersmith is doing my clearing and Rex Frieght is...
I have some animals (dip and pack - hides and horns) that were shipped a week and a half ago from South Africa to Atlanta. I was just wondering what a usual shipping time to expect is for trophies coming from Africa to the US by air. I will be picking the animals up in Atlanta myself and just...
Thank you. Looking to go back in 2019 for Lechwe and Nyala plus black wildebeest, black springbok, warthog, common duiker, baboon, white blesbok... and maybe a couple other critters if they show up.
Yes I was at Rockland for 3 days but didn't take an animal there. I was only looking for Kudu at that point and we couldn't find anything big. I took my Kudu about 20 minutes from there on a cattle farm.
I hunted 7 days, but had 10 of the 11 animals by the end of day 4. The kudu took a couple of days because it was the end of the season and most of the big bulls had either been shot or were hiding out.
My first Safari was back in September. I hunted with Huntershill Safaris in the Eastern Cape and had a great time. I wanted to share a few trophy pics and hope to add some information on the hunt in the days to come. Of all the animals I was blessed to harvest the Red Hartebeest was my...
I will be taking my first safari to South Africa this summer. While I have done some research on dip and pack, and also shipping options I wanted to get some advice from guys who have experience in these areas. Below is my current plan...
I hope to take the following species in my hunting...
I saw an advertisment for Northwoods Adventures in one of the SCI Magizines. They had a couple good offers in Nambia and South Africa. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this booking agent. Thank you for your help.
Thanks for the insight guys, I am a taxidermist myself and have my own shop so I would be mounting the animals myself. All my buddies are from the same town. That is a big help. Thanks a lot.
Hey Guys,
Looking to go to africa in the near future and I was trying to find out if you can ship more than one hunters trophies in a single crate? I am trying to get some buddies to go with me and thought this would be a way of knocking down some of the cost. Thanks in advance for your help.
