We just had a cancellation for one of our October hunts, so we want to pass along to the savings to an interested group of 4 or less. The hunt is self guided but the owner or ranch hand will be available to show the group where the existing property line runs and adjacent land that can be hunted. The hunt is in a very productive elk and whitetail country on private land within the Coeur d' Alene Indian Reservation. This part of the reservation is away from the Indian communities and we've never seen any tribal people hunt anywhere near the area, so the area receives little pressure.

The special deal allows up to 4 hunters (2 minimum) to stay in a fully equipped hunting cabin with cots, kitchen area with pots and pans, propane heat, fresh water supply, and new outhouse. We even have scoped rifles for rent (7mm, 30-06 and 338 mag) plus a practice shooting range away from the hunting area. So so all that is required is a light sleeping bag and gun unless you would prefer to rent one. When the property was last hunted in 2011, elk were taken within a hundred yards of the cabin. This year the whitetail population has tripled from preceding years and there are many good bucks on the property.

The property is less than an hours drive from Spokane, Washington or 45 minutes from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Flights to Spokane are on a regular basis. The property is around 4,000 to 4,900 feet above sea level with temperatures during the hunting season running about freezing or 32 degrees F at night to the 60-70's F during the day.

Cover includes dark timber, mixed hardwood and evergreen cover and bottoms with creek. Moose are abundant but tags are gone for this year. Over the counter elk tags are available after purchasing non-resident hunting licence for $154.75 USD. Non-resident anterlered elk and deer cost $416.75 and 301.75 respectively. Bear and wolf tags are available and do frequent the property. Non-resident bear tags cost $186.00. Turkeys and ruffed grouse abound on the property with turkey tags available for another $80.00.

The panhandle of Idaho has one of the largest elk herds in the states due to selective cutting of timber by the paper companies. This cutting of thick timber enables forage to develop that is not in the timber and with the seasonal rains, the succession vegetation grows very quick. the is a swath of such cutting area on a mountain part of the property where 3 elk were taken in the opening minutes of the season two years ago. While trophy racks are seen for elk, most of the mature bulls will be will average 5 points (each side). The deer, however, sport large racks because they are rarely hunted and the forage is excellent.

Game tags are available 20 miles away in the small town of St. Maries where a well equipped sportshop is located with everything that you might forget to bring. You can rifle hunt in camo in Idaho as it is not necessary to wear flourescent orange like other states. License can be purchased by credit card at the Idaho Fish and Game site with a credit card. Idaho Fish and Game - Home Page. Two supermarkets are also there in St. Maries for food and other supplies as are several hotels for the city folks. We also have arrangement for cold storage hanging of game and nearby butchering and shipping service. A excellent and reasonably priced taxidermist is located in St. Maries.

The camp will be limited to a single group of hunters per hunt to ensure a quality experience. The total cost for this discounted hunt, including a $1000 refundable damage deposit is $2,500 per hunter with 3 person minimum and 4 person maximum. The owner and his son may be hunting during the season although the chances are that you will have the property to group only. The season is Oct 25th to 29th but you are welcome to come in 2 days early to scout the area.

There are ground blinds, tree or elevated stands on the property in some of the better hunting locations. The there is a 4x4 and trailer that rents for $100/day with a negotiable damage deposit or proof of insurance. The ATV rents for $75 per day but you are encouraged only to use it to haul game to ensure a quality hunt for all. Cell coverage is about 10 minutes from the property and for emergencies, we can provide a satellite phone.

A non-refundable deposit of 50% must be made to reserve the hunt. Remember this is a self-guided hunt otherwise you would be paying 5 times this amount.

There are many other details that will be provided when you make an inquiry including pictures and maps. This is a unique opportunity to enjoy a quality, low-cost hunt in country where you don't need to be in top physical condition to see and shoot quality game.

In para 2 you say the hunt requires a minimum of 2 hunters and in para 7 it changes to a minimum of 3 hunters. Which is correct?

Ahhh! Thanks for pointing out the inconsistency. We only want to have one group of friends or family enjoying the hunting opportunity. We do not believe that mixing folks in a quality camp as sometimes there might be incompatible hunters. We want the best possible experience for you and your buddies and/or family.

So here is what we are willing to do as the hunt is still open and we did receive a partial deposit from the cancellation. We require at least 2 people and are willing to discount the price per individual to $4000 each if only 2 are in your party. For 3 people, we will discount it further to $3000 apiece. And for the maximum of 4 people in your group, the new price will be $2,500 per person.

If you have a non-hunter along such as a wife or child, we will discount their stay by 50%of the of the cost in accordance to the total number in the party outlined above.
50% is due upfront with the remainer due the day you arrive plus any rentals you might want for a 4x4, ATV and/or firearms. We will arrange for someone to pick you up and bring you back from the Spokane airport to ensure that you find the property without problem. Should you decide to rent or drive your own 4x4, our directions will be detailed including maps and gps data. On the first day, we will show you where to sight in your guns without spooking game and also show you where there is cell coverage. There will be a satellite phone in camp that we will give you some free minutes. We will also give you the information for cold storage of the animals, butchering and freezing if you prefer to butcher your own. We will also give you information only one of the best taxidermist in the region who is base nearby in St. Maries.

Sorry for the confusion on our prior listing. I hope this clarifies our intent and give you yet another bargain deal.

Call me should you have any further questions at (208) 582-0841 or (303) 396-9818.

One other detail...The cost quote in the last email denotes our pick-up drop off option. Should you like to rent your own vehicle. The cost per person for a party of three will be $2500 and not $3000.

We are willing to negotiate on cost so give us a call if you are truly interested so we can work up a total quote package detail.
