Just curious how many of you have booked for the 10' safari season already. With the shows quickly approaching the excitement is in the air. Let's hear what people have booked and if they haven't, when they think they might.

Nothing at this point but I'm still considering Aug. or Sept. in Namibia. A LOT will depend on if airfares return to somewhat normal rates AFTER the World Cup. While I haven't ruled 2010 out yet, realistically, it may not be until 2011 when I'm able to return.

I booked July 2011 about a month ago, mostly to allow me the time to come up with the money to hunt cape buff AND tuskless cow ele on the same safari.

Hunting with Jamy Traut in Namibia in July. We'll be up on the border initially focused on Cape Buffalo and Roan. Depending upon how that goes, we'll shift to his concession at Eden for Sable and Eland. I haven't started packing yet, but I'm thinking about it.

Interesting to hear that Eden has access to Roan. What is the Trophy Fee for a Roan with them?

Hopefully in a few years!

After being on my favorite new website for a year almost. I'm not sure when I'll get back to Africa. It might take years now, because I think I want to do a serious hunt for specific animals. Roan, Sable and Leopard being the main appeal and a 14 to 21 day hunt. Possibly cape buffalo added in on a trophy fee. I think the hunt could take place in Mozambique or Zambia. But things can change along the way. I would like to go on a classic big game adventure yet in my lifetime. I have gotten some fantastic plains game animals in Namibia and South Africa and think it's time to expand to a different country.

The other appeal to going to a different country, is the new plains game animals avialable to hunt. Because I really enjoy hunt the antelope of the world the most!

Enysse, ditto that on the favorite new website for about a year now and it just keeps getting better... great people and discussions!

Anyway, I'll be heading to Namibia in May 2010!!! Can't wait, seems like it is taking forever to get here, but alas, 2010 is almost upon us. I have a serious anticipation issue and am thankful for this site, as it gives me a little fix when I need it so I can go on and focus on the rest of life... ha ha ha.

I'll be heading over to AH's generous host Jerome's place in Namibia, Ozondjahe Safaris (hope I spelled that correctly). Just to let you guys know he has been just as amazing helping me set up my hunt and planning all of the details and talking to me (probably too much, I like to talk) as he is here on the site. I'm looking forward to taking Kudu, Gemsbok, Mountain Zebra and Impala for sure and probably others but those are my main species and we'll see what else presents itself... oh, and Blue Wildebeest also!

Can't wait, I'm like a kid at Christmas!

Well I am going to Europe hunting in September and am going to try and tie that in to a trip somewhere in southern Africa. At this point I do not know if I can swing it, but we shall see.

9 DAYS OF PLAINSGAME STARTING ON 5/1/10! I'm hunting with Hannes Du Plessis of Bergzicht hunting lodge (Namibia). There is nothing that isn't on the wish list. The p:biggrin:riority is Gemsbok, Kudu and Mountain Zebra.YEEE-HA!

booked in may 2011 10 days hunting then off to vic falls and kruger park , needed the time to pay.

Saw a monster kudu at Jerome's place last April (upper 50's maybe bigger?)...don't shoot it, I've got just place for it in my den. Plenty of big impala there too. Have fun!

Thanks to everyone on the website!

I can't wait to hear all the of the hunting stories coming in 2010. I really enjoyed the article on judging zebra on this website. Just awesome! And the people going to hunt zebra for your first time will not be disappointed. I know I was shake like a leaf in excitement of getting one. I know I had a hard time sleeping before going to Africa...because it is so exciting. And you will be generating memories that will last a lifetime. And I will enjoy learning new things form this website and meeting new people and continue to enjoy the good company on this website until I get to hunt again on the "Dark Continent"

I really want to thank my friend Calhoun, for introducing me to this website.

I am booked with Mokore safaris to hunt Zim elephant and plainsgame and Moz for plainsgame. Probably will add buffalo.

Deposit is in, we will finalize the dates while at DSC.

I have booked an April 2010 elephant hunt in Zim. Most of the safari companies have been willing to deal and adjust their prices to get a deposit for 2010. With the recession, now may be a good time to go to Arica! I am packing already!

Booked a bowhunting safari with Dries Visser in July 2010. World Cup gave us a scare, but we shifted our hunt dates to arrive 2 days after the championship game and the airfare was pretty reasonable.

This will be my first safari and I can't wait!

I am hunting Argentina in March for 2 Reg Stages, Black Buck, Boar and a day or doves; a late May trip (I leave the day before the airfares skyrocket) with Wesley van der Veen for an archery Green Hunt for Rhino and the north to hunt for a mature male lion (with a Zebra, Gemsbuck and Kudu hopefully in for good measure along he way); then its to Zim with Nixon Dinzgai in late Septemeber throgh mid-October on a 16 day safari from Big Tuskers (they shoot some real nice tuskers on the Malapati Concession in southern Zim late in the year), Cape Buffalo and Leopard. Time permitting, he has great Nyala and common Buskbuck as well.

I started booking almost 18 months ago at my SCI chapter dinner, then in March I booked ZIM and and I made the final booking for 2010 in May. I thought that I was cutting it too close but the bad year for some outfitters (most ???) outfitters it seems. made it possible for me. Some very good prices this year, the best I have ever seen, and I am limited by time at this point.

Will book for 2011 but I am looking for something with a combined hunting/fishing mixed bad type of trip somewhere as my wife really likes to fly fish and while she will be trying for her first big game animal (Zebra) and will probably shoot doves every day we are in Argentina, 3 trips with basically a non-hunting companion just running a camera is stressing things a little.

And yes guys, no doubt about it, I am one of the luckiest guys in the world. If it makes you feel any better at all, I came from a family with 5 kids, my dad worked on the line at GM, I worked through college at minimum wage so I had no school loans, made "it" on my own and married the coolest women there is (and yes, I am sorry to say, but she is very good looking too!)

Dutch, let me know how it goes. I'm looking for a late season Zim buff & tusker hunt.

RSA in 2010 w/ SCS

I had a 1931 Model A 5 window coupe with a corvette engine that I never thought I'd sell that is now "down the road" to pay for this.

I'll be going back to Steyn Caracal Safaris in RSA with my wife and this time MY SONS! I promised I'd take them on a hunt from the time they could understand. We will be hunting plains game.

The wife will be after the animal that she didn't want me to shoot , (until we got there then she decided that SHE wanted to shoot one;)). zebra.

I learned last time that I should not dictate what I was going to shoot, (advice from this forum). But I would like blue & black wildebeest, eland, nyalla, & waterbuck, maybe a wart hog & forest hog.

2010

Just curious how many of you have booked for the 10' safari season already. With the shows quickly approaching the excitement is in the air. Let's hear what people have booked and if they haven't, when they think they might.

Bob Puckett:D

I've booked 10 days early in the season 2010. I will be hunting with Louis Van Bergen of Spiral Horn Safaris in the Limpopo Province of the Republic of South Africa. Luckily, Louis was able to fit me in during the dark phase of the moon cycle which I was especially happy to hear as I will be hunting primarily with my archery gear. I am anxiously waiting to see what opportunities Mother Nature provides on my first hunting trip in Africa.
