Hello Everyone,
I realize this is very short notice but its a really great hunt at a discounted price if used before the end of the year (2012).

The hunt is with Simon Dzingai of SSG Safaries in the Southern Region of Zimbabwe (Malapati Safari Area) near the border of Mozambique.

Fly into Harare and Simon will pick you up at the airport, typically over night in Harare (there are some really nice places to stay, Bronte Hotel for example),
then up early for the drive to camp, this takes 8+ hours and is a great way to see Zimbabwe. The hunting camps are very comfortable and fully equipped.

The hunting is outstanding, the Buffalo population and quality is excellent as are the Nyala, Waterbuck, Kudu, Impala, etc (there are lots of elephant here too). This is a
great opportunity to hunt very large buff, there are no guarantees when hunting but I will tell you we shot 44", 46"+, bulls recently and a 50" bull was taken 2 weeks ago.

The daily fees are discounted, 7 days are $4,500 (only until the end of the year) compared to the normal rate of $6,650. Trophy fees for buffalo are $3,000=$7,500 for
the 7 day hunt including buffalo trophy fees. Additional fees are RT transporation from Harare/Camp=$700, 4% Zim Govt fee=$300, taxidermy, additional trophies killed
or wounded.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or if you would like to see pictures of the trophies/camps, etc. Alternatively you can e-mail Simon Dzingai
directly at simondzingai@gmail.com

Sincerely,
Patrick

Welcome to AH Patrick.
Tell us a little more about you.

What are the Trophy Fees for the other game?
Are there still Elephant on quota?

Welcome to AH Patrick! Sounds like a good hunt at a good price, is there a website that we can look at for planning future hunts?

Thank you for the Welcomes!

Brickburn, I sent an inquiry regarding the availability of any additional elephant for 2012 with SSG Safaris. If there are any still on quota the hunt may be arranged with Simons father Nixon Dzingai as Simon's PH license is for buffalo, leopard and plains game only ( at this time).

Bob, I will have a site up shortly you can view, any feedback will be appreciated.

The additional trophy (subject to availability on quota) fees:
Impala male $450
Bushbuck $800
Eland $1500
Blue Wildebeest $800
Zebra $900
Nyala $3200
Kudu $1500
Waterbuck $2500
Warthog $350

Thanks very much.

Patrick

2011-11-01 15.58.04.jpgGood Morning,

Unfortunately there are no elephant left for 2012.

There are 3 buffalo available as well as 2 Nyala, 1 Hippo and plains game.

Thank you,

Patrick

Ok, so how do I learn more about SSG Safaris? I have never heard of them.

I assume that you are a brand spanking new, just went to Africa booking agent for SSG since when I click on your "website" link I get a "Website Coming Soon" message from GoDaddy.

So tell us more about who you are, how you came to be booking hunts for SSG and how I can learn more about SSG Safaris beyond their website I found when I googled. SSG Safaris SSG Safaris

I have been wanting a Cape Buffalo....

Has anybody here ever hunted with SSG Safaris? Are they a member of Zimbabwe's PH Association? Can't find anything stating so on their website.

I am 52 years old and in my 52 years of studying at the U. of Hardknocks majored in "If it sounds too good to be true it probably isn't"

TERMINATOR,

I can't tell you anything about Patrick. I also can't tell you anything about SSG safaris from direct experience. I can tell you that SSG has a good reputation as well as Nixon the owner/operator. A year or so ago, a gent from Tucson was at a safari shoot here in Phoenix not long after hunting with SSG. I had seen his report over at the other place and recognized him immediately as the bull he shot was one of the largest taken in a long time and I think without a doubt #1 that year in Zimbabwe.

Now with all due respect to Patrick and without the intention of insinuating anything or stepping on his toes, if you go again to the home page for SSG, you'll see in the first pic below the intro paragraph a gentleman with an 82 x 84 pound ele. The gent's name is Aaron Neilson, a pretty well known hunter to Africa and the owner of Global Hunting Resources. Aaron is also a member here I believe, though it's been awhile since I've seen him post here. If you go to the "Contact" page on the SSG website, you'll see that the USA contact is in fact Aaron's Global Hunting Resources.

As far as Nixon and his operation being registered with the Zimbabwe PH Association, I can't say, I'd presume so but I would confirm that first obviously.

Again Patrick, I'm not trying to suggest anything as being not on the level here, just trying to help Terminator out.

image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgHello everyone,
SSG Safaris has been around for quite some time (20 +\-years) and is owned by Nixon Dzingai as mentioned above in the thread. Simon Dzingai is Nixons son and is starting to build his own hunting clientele, Simon asked me to assist him on the various hunting web sites as he is frequently in the bush and not always available to respond at the speed to which we are accustomed. SSG doesn't maintain their own site, I believe the site mentioned above is managed by one of their representatives.

My website is not available quite yet, apologies for that, I wanted to post the hunt as it was a very short notice opportunity.

This hunt is terrific I attached a couple of our trophies here. The camp is very comfortable, I would rate it 3 stars out of 5, the food and hospitality are excellent. I also attached some pics of the camp. This hunt is a great value.

If you would like to call me to discuss additional particulars please call me at 303-249-7142.

Patrick this sounds like a great opportunity!
I wish I hadn't been over there 3 months ago!!

Folks, I'm not sure who "Patrick" is, including his last name? Not that it matters any, I'm just providing some info here - since I see I was mentioned in this thread.

My company - Global Hunting Resources, owns the SSG Safaris website. I have personally hunted with SSG a couple of times, as have many of my clients in the past 2 yrs. The 3 buffalo bulls that "we" shot, mentioned in Patrick's original post of 44", 46" and 50", are all trophies taken by my clients, as is the picture of the bull shown here in Patrick's original post.

Whether Patrick has hunted / or been to the area with SSG, I have no idea? I am simply providing the info as I know it.

Good luck to all!!!

If you are representing SSG and are not sure who Patrick is what does that mean for this initial post.

is this a good offer or what for members?

James, only "Patrick" can answer that question. I assume he knows Simon, and they worked some deal - and I have no reason to assume the offer is in-correct. I work directly with Nixon - Simon's father, and the owner of SSG Safaris.

Hi there,

I am only working with Simon on this hunt, with Nixons permission. I have hunted with SSG and agreed to assist Simon to market his services. Everything described in the posting is available.

I appreciate the opportunity to re-phrase the "we" in the initial thread, we, my girlfriend and I did shoot buff, she shot the 44" and others hunting with Nixon/Simon have taken many fantastic trophies including the pic I posted originally, Simon sent it to me to use in the posting. No misrepresentation intended at all.

also, my name is Patrick Hulbert, I included my phone number earlier, anyone interested in the hunt can call me anytime. I am glad to answer any questions you may have.

Congratulations to Simon on receiving his "B" restricted license (buffalo and leopard) after completing his practical exam in October of this year.

Hopefully he will receive his full license after the practicals in October of 2013, allowing him to hunt elephant and lion.

Well done.

Patrick,

Will this hunt be conducted in Malapati on Nixon's concession or on Gonakudzingwa TTL.

I should see Nixon tonight at the Hunter's Ball.

Mike,

I sent Simon a message to clarify.

I will let you know shortly.

Best,

Patrick

Mike,

This buffalo hunt is for the Gonakudzingwa area not for Malapati, I will see if I can edit my original post accordingly.

best,

Patrick
