Hello everyone. I'm wanting to plan a trip for deer in one of these country's for September 2013. I cant find many outfitters or information regarding importing trophies to the USA. I would like to hunt Fallow, Roe, Muntjac, Water deer, and sika in that order. I will prob only have 3 days to hunt so i know i wont be able to do more than a couple of those. I'm looking for any outfitters that can give me any ideas on where to start and what to budget if they offer daily or 3 day hunts. Any information is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

PS if in England it would only be me staying. If in Ireland or Scotland my Fiancee would accompany me.

There are some great hunts in Ireland and Scotland. The hills and the forests.
"Stalking" as they refer to it on that group of little islands. :)
Find the local Stalkers Association and contact them.

Budget, that has a range that would boggle your mind.

This is just an example for you.

Stags - red and sika

Good luck.

Thanks for the info BB. Deer-Zone do you have a website or pm me some price info and available dates. I think i would like to rent a firearm also rather than do all the paper work to get one into the UK. If you have info on that it would also be appreciated. Does stalking there require any classes i would need to take before coming over?

I'm sorry, but the system will not allow me to write my web address, think what it says.
And now I can not spell properly, Sorry again

We have weapons you can rent here. And you can hunt roe deer, sika and fallow buck at the same time All animals are absolutely super class. Free ranging not under fences. Area 30.000 hektars west of England.
Kind regards Bjarne Ravn

Hi Pawneepredator

If you're wanting to hunt Scotland let me know, I can put you in touch with with the right people. I'm hunting red hinds and roe does there next week in Perthshire, Scotland. :)

It's techniclly illegal for anyone to rent you a firearm, but you can borrow an 'estate rifle'. But you will have to be accompanied whilst using it.

I have to ask out of curiousity though, you chose five of our six species of deer. Any reason why you're not interested in our red deer? :)

I wondered the same thing, being a fan of Red Deer.

I left out reds because they always seem to be the most expensive to hunt, plus they are very similar to elk until they grow all the crown points. I chose all the other deer because they are unique compared to what we have in the states. I have always thought Fallow deer were one of the best looking deer in all the world and have always wanted to hunt them. I know they are probably one of the most widespread deer in the world also but hunting them in their native lands would add alot to the experience for me.

You have picked the different species from NA for sure.
Very similar to Elk is why I do want to hunt them.
I agree, in some places they can be quite pricey. Good luck with your hunt planning.

Our red deer are actually the same species as NA elk (Cervus elaphus). I totally agree that fallow are a beautiful species, but they're not native to the UK. They were introduced around a 1000 years or so ago for the purposes of hunting. In fact the only two native species we have are reds and roe deer. The sika, chinese water deer and muntjac are all invasive species. Fallow are classed as naturalised as they've been here for so long.

Reds are not cheap to stalk. but some bargains can be had. I've managed to get red stalking for ï½£150 per day with no cull fees and shot a couple of 10 point stags whilst out there so that's not bad at all. If I were you I'd join here :-

The Stalking Directory - The Home of UK Deer Stalking

Post an introduction as per site rules and seek out the forum owner 'sikamalc'. Drop him a PM with your requirements he is very helpful and has access to all the species you are loooking for, he offers exceptional value for money hunting and is very well regarded. You'll also be able to see what other types of stalking (deer hunting to you americans) are on offer here in the UK.

Funnily enough I'm in the US this december, I took a look at prices for hunting deer in Florida. I'll be off drinking mojitos and game fishing in the keys instead I think! lol :)

Thanks mj75 i'll check that out. Yes i think everywhere in the world has better prices on guided hunts than does the US. I think the best way to do a hunt in the USA is to go on your own or find someone that isn't a guide to go with. You can hunt out west very cheap for elk, muledeer, antelope, whitetails, blacktail, and bear for the cost of tags. The good thing about the west is it is mostly public land where as the east is all private.
