Okay I have a question.
What happens when you have to go to the bathroom while in the hide? We girls have a tougher time with this issue. Do they have areas where you can go to the bathroom? I drink a lot of water, so this does become an issue for me after about 2 hours of sitting.
Thanks :)

Since peeing outside the blind would be very bad, I guess you have to ask the ph to leave for a while, when you do what you have to do in the peebottle?

Well Packsy sounds like Catheter time, Just kidding either the PH will leave the hide or take you to a place a good ways away to take care of Business.

Hm, a catheter, might be a good idea - but then again, that can be really messy because it does have to be emptied at some point.
Stretch suggests I get adult diapers.

Shoot! them things could take up a hole suit case, better see if you can buy them there.;)

While sitting in the hide you just might have to change your drinking habits...for those days

Leaving the hide could cause a problem with game coming and going.

WE usually stop about about a 1/2 to 1 mile from the hide and have a break and then sit for hours with out leaving.

The less movement in the hide the better...

I'm serious when I say this. Have you thought about one of these gadgets:
156056-4-internet-urinal.jpg

It might not be extremely classy but it would work for sitting in the blind. If you do a google search under "female urinal" you will get a host of different products. This appears to be the best one for the situation.

Each one is made of hard plastic and even comes with a female adapter for the ladies. It can hold 32 ounces. If you're not grossed out yet, it sells for $4.99 for four from McPhee.com.

Oh I could only imaging a TSA agent with that! Packsy you deff have a problem. Leaving the blind could be bad. This might be your only option. Ladies deff have a diss advantage when it come to this.

Oh man, what's a girl to do?!?
Guess I need to start training my bladder too :p

Packsy you'll be fine do you Business before you get to the hide, drink less water while in the hide and take some hard candy with you it will help to create Sylvia so you wont be so thirsty.

Yes, you can train your bladder as well as the rest of you. You will also learn the rhythms of the day. Perhaps 3 cups of tea before the morning sit in the blind will be too much and you'll have a bit of OJ and then drink more later, knowing the afternoon siesta will give you a chance to use the toilet. Or, drink some while in the stand rather than before and time it out so that you'll be off stand before it kicks in.

It is easier for a man to take a leak in the bush, but women can do it too. You'll be in Africa, not Antarctica, so it isn't a real big deal. Either way, leaving the stand to answer a call of nature is going to mess up the hunting, so you need to learn to go with the flow as it were.

My first trip to Africa, before I got a good feel for timing, we were sitting in the blind till I thought I was going to explode. I wasn't looking to shoot a hartebeest, but when a decent one showed up, I took him without hesitation just to have a reason to get down from the stand and hit the bushes. I soon enough learned to plan a little better.

I dont think "hard candy" will create "Sylvia", or was that the joke? LOL! Very sly Puckett.

yet another reason I hate hunting in hides/blinds!

It's nice to see so many guys concerned enough to provide advice to my wife about "Potty time.":) The advice I am going to give you Packsy is to stay hydrated regardless of the inconvenience. Dehydration will occur when your body doesn't have enough water and other fluids to carry out its normal functions. This can lead to headaches, constipation, dizziness or becoming lightheaded. Not much fun. Decreased urine output is not worth it. While we are in the hide I can always hold up my coat to block the view while the PH and I giggle like a couple of young school boys.

Packsy, Ask the outfitter to install a 'desert lily' in each of his blinds ( a pvc pipe that has its end buried underground.)... assuming they're closed in! We put them in our blinds. Just ask the guys to turn their backs while you pee!
I had a very funny incident once!
The client was a sassy know it all type and we were bowhunting in very hot dry conditions. He had brought 2
'wine skin' containers. One he had water in and the other peed in! He claimed he'd been using the system for years! He had one either side of him! Well a very nice Sable bull came in about 4 hours after we'd gotten into the stand and both the skins were now about 50% full! Despite having been told to sit very still when the animals were approaching, he chose this moment to get a drink! Silently he reached down and to my amazement picked up the one half full of urine and took the longest pull on it! His eye's and cheeks bulged as he stared at the offending skin! He looked at me with an 'OH GOD what have I done look' as I leaned across and whispered forcefully ' swallow' !! Well he just had to! To add insult to injury, no sooner had he swallowed than the Sable heard him wretch and took off!! He was hunting with a buddy and swore me to secrecy...but I never was a good liar and the more I sniggered every time I pictured his bulging eyes, the more everyone asked what's funny! Eventually I had to tell the other PH and of course he told his client so the cat was out! It was just hilarious! :)

Packsy, besides having to get out of the blind to take care of business, I would not worry about doing the business outside of the blind. I would like to know how many animals can tell the difference between human urine and animal urine. We "pee" in our whitetail scrapes all the time and they continue to get freshened. I have even started scrapes which I "pee" in and had them hit time and time again. Like I said at the start, besided having to get out of the hide and possible spooking any animals, peeing outside should not spook anything as far as the smell.

Wow, Bailey, that is hilarious!!
Mudslinger - I do not have an issue peeing outside, or in a bottle (as long as it is big enough) or whatever. And I do not even have a problem peeing with the guys there, as long as they don't peek. But, as stretch said, it is the dehydration I worry about. I take medication that causes me to dehydrate more easily than most others. If I don't drink enough I have worse issues than peeing in or around the hide.

Drink plenty of fluids and go when you need to however you need to. Need to stay sharp in the hide and dehydration will not help in the area.
