does anything like this exist: black bear and wolf hunt in the U.S., as close as it can be to Louisiana? i want to hunt some predators other than coyotes. let me know if you guys know of anything

Well they are talking of opening a wolf season in Idaho and Montana again...as early as this fall. And they have black bears to hunt too.

Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario offer excellent wolf and bear hunts...but then again Canada and Alaska have a lot of them in general to hunt.

opticspecialist-
Did you ever find a Black Bear hunt? There are a few outfitters in Arkansas & Tennessee, possibly Mississippi & Alabama. Just type in Black Bear hunt, [state name] in the window of your preferred internet search engine and outfitters will pop up. Also call the Wildlife & Fisheries state agency for that state, they usually have a list of reputable outfitters/guides.

Not trying to advertise, but I guide for an outfitter in Arkansas. We have Black Bear hunts although this season is full. Keep in mind bears in the south are not as big as those found in northern states & Canada.

Black bear and wolf

Dear Opticspecialist:

The closest that you could hunt both species is Quebec. We offer both black bear and wolf from our lodge near Ottawa. Bit of a drive for you but still within reason. The problem is that bears are hunted in the fall and spring (Our area has so many bears that they have opened the fall season again) and wolves are hunted in the winter. We sometimes have wolf coming to the bear baits but not as good as we have them coming to the meat based bait piles we use in Feb strictly for wolf hunting. I think it best if you want to take both species that you consider hunting the bears closer to home and then do the wolf as a seperate hunt in the dead of winter. We do our wolf hunts in Feb and March and they are from blinds so you are protected from the weather. One week hunt is $1300 with the meals. This includes your accommodation, field transport, baits, stands, meals, guide, etc. We will even pick you up at the Ottawa airport so you do not need to drive. Best part of this is that all you need is a small game licence to hunt wolves in Quebec! If you want to know more please contact Ed at EAI Outdoors.

They have quite a few bears and wolves in Algonquin Provincial Parkin Ontario. The fines are too high though.

For the closest geographically to Louisiana is Quebec.
You are going to be flying anyway, not sure why that is going to matter :)

Numbers, access and success rate ON BOTH:
Alberta, British Columbia, Alaska.

There are guys posting self hunted wolves in Alberta all the time.
Here they are vermin that locals can hunt on private land all year long.
We had so many we shipped a new pack to Yellowstone so they could have wolf trouble again. :)
Hence the hopeful season in Montana for wolves.

Here is a site for all the local guides that have licenses.
Alberta Professional Outfitters Society

You can also be guided here by a relative and/or friend (host).
(I do not have all the specifics in memory at the moment)

Here is a link to the definitions of HUNTER HOST.

Hope that answers the question.
