October is a great time to hunt the Caprivi. It will be about as dry as it's going to get and that means you will not have to wade as much and will be easier to get around in a safari truck. What area are you hunting? I hunted the Kasiska and camped in the Salambala. As long as there are no early rains you should see lots of elephants and other game.

It does depend where you are. The Kwando rises in the Angolan highlands and the previous spring's flood just reaches the Caprivi in winter thru early spring. There you will likely use boats. Other areas will be much drier and you can get around well in a truck. It will also be hot as blazes by then so be prepared for it and make sure the team has plenty of water everytime you go out. And yes, you should see lots of buffalo, elephant, and hippo.

many thanks for info ,will keep you posted how hunt progresse's
