My daughter's "going to Africa" video blog

I don’t think that she head problems whit the Bipods, but this was the first time that she sighted in a rifle by herself. She had a new batch of ammo and was switching from 200grs bullets, to 165grs bullets.

If you turn the Bipods and lean into them, they would flip up. The way they are mounted now, they fold forward.
If they fold forward(towards the Barrel) they are correct at least on the Harris Bi-pod I use, most 308s like 165/168g bullets

Good luck Katharina! I have really enjoyed watching your videos so far. I hope you have a safe and productive trip. Your English is better than some people I know who were born and raised here in the U.S.

Thank you for sharing your progress with us.

Bob

Is Katharina planning on regular posts to this site while she is in Africa? I for one would like to see her do that. In one of your original posts you stated that the purpose of this trip was "to move her limits" (in other words to function outside her comfort zone) and to speak more English. I think we can safely say that she is well on her way to accomplishing both of her stated objectives.

There is no way for her to upload videos from the hunting camp. So she is planning on filming while in Africa. And then make a new series of videos showing what she has been doing in camp.

Many people write articles / reports of their hunting experience while in Africa, including photographs. I was thinking she might be able to do the same.

Looks like she's already getting comfortable

I has been almost a month since your last update, I hope things are going well for Katharina. I'm leaving in a day and a half for my first Safari. I'm sure we'll be sharing some stories and a complete trip report upon our return.

Your daughter is doing fine with her English. The more she uses it in her vlogs, the better she will become.

Also, I don't know what her exact training regiment is, but if she would like a challenge have her look into traintohunt.Com. It is what I do to prepare for elk hunting in the Rocky mountains in Colorado.

Also, I don't know if you already said it, but is she trying to become a PH?

This is great to follow. I suspect that there will be those in Africa that become more comfortable with their English from her than the other way around. I'm looking forward to more reports from Katharina's experiences in Africa! :)

Thanks for sharing the videos!

Very cool and good luck! It's crucial the future generations get involved in our sport and she's certainly putting in the hard work and doing it right.
