Two clients have asked me lately about being offered to hunt PAC elephants in Mozambique. 2 for 15 000$ including day fee, the other for 5000$. To my knowledge it's illegal, I have just spoken to 2 other outfitters in Mozambique and agree with me, ILLEGAL.

Gentlemen, we might be wrong, but I would like to just warn you. If you are going to take a chance on one of these hunts, make sure there is genuine paperwork, not just from local govt but officially from Minister of Agriculture or Tourism.

I will be in Maputo on Wednesday for our Annual general meeting and will get clarity on these hunts.

Thanks for bringing this up Simon. There's always talk of PAC Elephant hunts available in Mozambique.

I just had an agent flogging a PAC Elephant hunt in Mozambique to me by email.

I just looked for the email and I have already deleted it.

Thank you Simon. Such a price is amazing enough to get someone to jump on it. Your warning is much appreciated!

Pleasure JanD and Charlie. Will definitely give feedback after AGM meeting this week.

Hi there @@@@@@@

The ongoing drought is so bad in some areas that it is creating conflicts between human and wildlife. Last week alone, one of our outfitter's friend operating on the shore of the Cahorra Bassa lake in Mozambique, had two villagers killed by elephants near his camp. Lack of food and water has driven elephants into crops causing huge problems.

If you can travel at short notice, we are offering a very special deal on PAC Elephants in this area.

Simon, Thanks for confirming and much appreciate you bringing this information to our members and readers.

@TMS thanks for the heads up. These prices seem almost too good to be true...and like most things they are.

Thanx Simon, I have heard of these too.

Simon,

Thanks for being willing to post this here and to do some checking up on what was sent to you.

Thanks again Simon, it's a shame people are still trying these sale techniques.

@enysse , it hurts our business and would hate to see any foreigners being lock up in Moz.

Thanks for the info Simon. Ive seen many adds and have always wondered how Outfitters advertise these PAC hunts.....

If you have a valid Credential for a PAC Elephant, what is your opinion then? can you sell that hunt? this is where the issue actually lies i think....

It is outright illegal to sell a PAC elephant in Mozambique. There is no middle ground here.

Exactly what my understanding is, you see Outfitters advertise PAC elephants left right and centre......
