Good Luck Biddleman. I hope you enjoy the show and have better luck than I had the last two years I attended. I quit going. The parking and traffic is HORRENDOUS! The city leaves the traffic light timing like it was a regular workday and the backup off of the interstate stretches for miles. The city is basically bankrupt, politically incompetent and I wish the venue would move somewhere else. NEVER AGAIN will I visit this show. I'll add a lot of my hunting friends are of the same mind.

I must come in from a different direction then you do, traffic is always heavy but not that bad. I usually drive up the hill I think it's Cameron St. across from the show building and park in the overflow lot. That way I can take a shuttle bus from there and let the driver worry about the traffic.
Yeah Biddleman I'll probably be going to the show the same day as you since I don't give a crap about who wins the Super Bowl this year.

I was southbound on I81 to 22 & making the left up to the remote lot, the turn arrow would let three cars through the intersection. Last time, it too over an hour to get to the lot from the off ramp. The show has long outgrown the farm complex with its byzantine layout and the NRA needs to investigate another venue. Hope your experience is a good one.

Hope for sake of everyone going that traffic will be better this year!

I'll be there but not sure what day. I usually go on a week day to avoid crowds at the show itself. I have only missed once in 20 years and that was when Uncle Sam called me back on duty for a few months. Not counting the cancelled year

I come up 441 so the traffic isn't an issue. Don't know if others have seen but the jerk of a mayor for Harrisburg is having a hissy fit and isn't allowing the police to have OT to be there for traffic control. He's upset with the NRA. I guess the money the show brings in isn't enough for him. The powers that be obviously didn't learn the lesson the last time it was boycotted and than cancelled and the city/ businesses lost millions. I'm sure some other city would love to have the revenue brought in.

I'll be on the lookout for you guys. I'll be the one looking at the guns, hunting and fishing stuff. ;)

I read an article on this. It said NRA promised to give $50k each year to a local business/charity when they took over the show. Last year it was given to the police force (a new police cruiser was donated) This year the NRA picked 2-3 other recipients, but the mayor wanted the $50k donation again. NRA said they already committed it but would give $25k to city's/mayor. But not enough for Mayor. Also Mayor wanted the off duty cops to get a raise fro $30 per hour to $50 per hour. NRA offered $40. I think the Mayor is being selfish and not recognizing the value this show brings the city. Article suggested Mayor was not a big NRA. I hear the rank and file cops are not happy as many take vacation to get the relatively easy money working this event. Mayor has to approve all off duty work and says he won't do this. Another nearby police force is going to do the event. Oh well.

The mayor is anti-gun. This says it all, from Pennlive

Mayor Eric Papenfuse will speak at a march that will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015, at 2101 N. Front St., Building 1, to remember people who have died from gun violence.

The “Orange Walk: We Can End Gun Violence” is being organized by a Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America-PA, which is celebrating its third anniversary. The march will begin at the Schools in Communities of Pennsylvania office on Front Street, Harrisburg, and continue along Front Street, stopping at the Peace Garden in Riverfront Park.

Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America-PA has invited Mayor Papenfuse to speak because of his dedication to ending gun violence in Harrisburg and in the nation.

"Mayor Papenfuse stood up to the gun lobby this year when its lawyers tried to punish Harrisburg for its common-sense gun regulations,” said Deb Marteslo, Pennsylvania Chapter Leader of Moms Demand Action. “The mayor refused to back down on public safety, he fought them in court and Harrisburg won.

“Moms Demand Action-PA is proud to walk shoulder to shoulder with such a strong leader at our Capitol Region event," Marteslo said.

Mayor Papenfuse has faced a series of legal challenges to City of Harrisburg’s gun ordinances, including those forbidding possession of guns by minors and discharging guns in city parks. Gun rights advocates also have challenged laws mandating reporting of lost or stolen guns and prohibiting the sale or display of guns while the city is under a state of emergency.

“I am honored to be able to support Moms Demand Action and applaud its commitment to working for sensible gun laws,” said Mayor Papenfuse. “It is fitting that we take time to remember those who have died in our city and around the nation from gun violence. I once again express my sincerest sympathy to all those who are grieving for loved ones killed in acts of violence.”

People who participate in the march are asked to wear orange, which the organization says symbolizes gun safety.

As I stated earlier, it's time for the show to go elsewhere.

Politicians are morons and really do live lessons on "common sense", what's good for the economy and leave gun rights alone.
