700NE Double Rifle - I need help finding ammo or components.

Hello All,

Well, my latest project is having a 700NE Double Rifle custom built, but I can't find any ammo or components for having the rifle regulated.

I'm getting desperate.

It seems that all US sources have Bertam Brass backordered, and the custom brass makers are running over 3 months delivery, at best. If you know of any custom brass makers that could turn out a dozen or so, please let me know.

If anyone knows of a few rounds available, please let me know. Even singles would help me in this fix.

you might try safari arms out of NY

Hello redriver,

Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately, according to Safari Arms web page, the largest caliber they have is 600NE - they don't load 700NE

good luck in your search! I struggled to get brass and dies for my 45o N.E for about 4 months. But you are better off in the states than here in South Africa

there needs to be a limit to how much you can make me jealous of your rifle collection!

did you try talking to the folks at superior ammunition? they mentioned having access to some custom brass makers.

-matt

Hello matt85,

Thanks for your reply.

Superior lists only up to 600NE and when I called - they said thats as big as they go.

Don't know if they still have them but huntingtons shows single cases for sell and also woodleigh 1000 grain bullets. Might also try champlins firearms in my old hometown of Enid. It amazes me what they have sitting around sometimes. Also Ed Hubel of 12 gauge from hell and 585 HE. He worked on a 700 wildcat and may have a few cases laying around. Best of luck and congrats on a big double!

Buffalo Arms may have cases. Traded in Canada has Woodlieghs bullets

Hello,

Thanks for the reply.

Both Buffalo Arms and Huntington are out of stock - NO backorder date available

Sounds like you are stuck in back order hell.

1000 grain bullets ... fired almost simultaneously ... you really have to want something dead to start lobbing those bad boys downrange ... DAMN!!!!!

I hate to rub salt in your wounds ... but this might be the world telling you to just give up and move on to a grenade launcher :)!!!!

Kynock may have some ammo at SCI, bring a truck load of money.

Hello Spooksar,

Thanks for the reply.

If you see some for sale at one of their shows, let me know. I might have to buy some, even if expensive.

Kynock's website: http://www.kynochusa.com/Cartridges.html

Most cartridges available in either Soft-nosed or Solid. Prices are for a box of 5 unless
noted otherwise. Call for availability of single cartridges. Prices subject to change.

Hello 375 Ruger Fan,

Thanks for the reply.

Kynoch's US distributor was one of the first I tried - they have no 700 NE in the country.

$50 per round! Photo sort of explains why. A very large cartridge indeed. Good luck with trying to locate.

Hello 375 Ruger Fan

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately, at this point I would have paid the $50 each - I need something to send my gunsmith to regulate the rifle.
