If there were no hunting Outfitters in the area how much wildlife would this little haul have killed.

THIS is the type of stuff that we hunters should be promoting and using to fight our cause. NOTHING EVER gets said about POACHING DISASTERS like this by these damn greenies and it really pees me off no end... they rant and rave about ONE lion taken under a cloud but forget all about the 3 x rhinos poached every day in RSA/ the 30-40 elephants being poisoned at a time in Zimbabwe National Parks and and and.....:mad::mad::mad:

Well done guys!!!!

Keep up the great work. If only we could reach the anti hunting public with some education.

Wow, that's incredible, well done

Bullet Safaris did a great YouTube video. Is it feasible for more people involved in situations like this one to put up more videos? Building a large catalogue of antipoaching videos on YouTube would hopefully get the word out.

Perhaps Lance could fill us in on the size of the hunting quota in this concession where all this anti poaching has been conducted. I think its important to play off the actual hunting off take vs. the potential poached impact. Off course the fact that there is an anti poaching team active in that area probably brings the amount of attempted poaching incidents down in that area anyhow , although this is not quantifiable.

Exactly what this thread is about sharing. What is happening on the ground.

First off all the gaguda's (custom bush made muzzle loaders) used for Ellephant and other poaching ranging from 4 to 12 bore, confiscated this season.

To a lesser degree gin and wire snares, we have been raging a full on war over the last year and a half and I can see improvement.

We will continue to fight poaching to improve areas, with logging contracts a thing of the past pressure will be relieved as well.

And I greatly appreciate it. It awesome to see the hard work being done. I was just thinking a site like YouTube is a way of educating the non-hunting public outside of a hunting forum. It's really upsetting how uneducated the general public is.

I hope we can all start sharing from this resource to spread the word everywhere.

Jaco, what is this photo about?

This was my team on my hunt in Mozambique,That is one Great team. John

Here in Namibia poaching has steadily been on the rise and is certainly a big problem today. We now have an anti poaching team of 6 guys who live and breath the bush 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We catch poachers on a regular basis, most just get fines and a few may end up in jail for a few years for attempted murder after coming at our guys with knives, machetes or even spears thrown at them... luckily no one on our anti poaching team has been hurt so far. When needed they call for back up with their provided cell phones. We make arrests, usually shoot the dogs on site if present and call the police. Catching poachers is not an easy task especially over a large area. Having an anti poaching team in place is a little bit of a deterrent but does not stop the poachers just slows them down. Our team is constantly monitoring our hunting territory looking for poachers but also collecting snares and traps that they come across on game trails which they turn in. Here are 93 snares found over a couple of weeks time frame.

Here is a pile of snares found over the last 6 months which have been destroyed by cutting them apart to ensure that they are not ever used again.

Once the animal is in the snare, poachers use spears (the ones below average 1.40 meter/55 inches long) to finish off the animal if not already dead. Here are some recovered poachers' spears which I kept, all made of metal. The worst part about the snares is that the poachers leave behind many set snares that will continue to catch and kill animal that come into contact with them for years after the poachers have moved on.
