Animal you wouldn't hunt

For me and after my experience with the cheetahs that I went on they are off limits for me. I also have no desire to shoot a sable. While they are majestic animals they just don't do anything for me. Other than that anything legal is fair game.

I returned home without a warthog and need to go back and find one, they are just so ugly that I like them. I am also thinking about a ostrich but I have no room for it to be mounted with its wings spread and it's long neck but I would still like to get one. I also have found that their meat is great table fair.

It is also interesting in that some have asked the question of what do you do with all the meat? If they are reading this I will say that you don't have to worry about it, it will get eaten and those that eat it will be quite happy for it. I was watching a show on TV a while ago and the hunter shot a large hippo. When they got that hippo to shore all the people from the nearest village were there with tubs, buckets, bag, and whatever else they could use to pack some meat back to their homes.

Nothing in Africa goes to waste. Hell the locals ate my lion.

I don't know if it is believed in Africa but some native American tribes believed that when you ate the meat of your quarry its spirit entered their body and made them stronger and better hunters.

Roger that, some South American and african tribesmen ate their enemies for the same reason.
I wanted to eat some of my lion but it was all bloodshot to hell. Those pieces that weren't I couldn't convenes anyone to cook.

I happen to be a cat person so I would never hunt any cat. Big or small.

For me it would probably be an ostrich. Can't see much sense in it. Just my opinion.

Hardest hunt I ever did.
I tried all day to get the SOB to flush but he would just keep running. :)

Have culled Ostrich jeasus they are hard work ....have pretty much given up specifically culling them now just chance opertunitity. ......However one day if u ever have the time shotgun 3.5 inch heavy shot and as long as it takes ....airline on speed dial for rebooking home .......

The leather is some of the best in the world ....the twins have made handbags dresseses mini skirts etc out of them ....

What I would not hunt ....cheetah as have had the opertunitity to play with one .....

Animals I wouldn't hunt......Giraffe, Teeny tiny Antelope, and Primates. But that's just me.

I might hunt Baboon, as I hear they can be vicious trouble makers. Any truth to this?

Agree ostrich meat is excellent

Well I got to Dart a Rhino and it was way to cool of an experience for me. I got way too emotional being with the beast. I don't think I could every shoot one and kill it. No problem with anyone who does it legally, just that gave me my dance with the Rhino.

There are many animals I have no desire to shoot, but you never know how the mood might strike me on that particular day. I said I would never shoot a zebra or an ostrich but after seeing them, I kind of want to do it. I really had no desire to shoot a red hartbeast and now it is high on my list. A gemsbuck has pretty much dropped off my list. Same with foxes, some days they get a pass, same thing with small deer, other days they are in trouble. It depends on the situation, and my mood at the time.
Interesting Mike, so what I'm assuming is if you wake up while on safari just about anything you come across could be in mortal trouble! ;). I found gemsbuck to be a worthy adversary, not sure if the reason being the one I shoot was free range in Namibia.

Agree with you Silence, Cheetah is a animal that I keep "holy" but Leopard is something ells, that's a bit strange....

Send a photo of my best "buddy's"

I won't hunt an animal I cant import or utilize, i.e. cheetah, birds of prey and of course young animals.
As far as the zebras remind me of horses, etc..., I really don't get that reasoning, but to each their own.
Don't judge me, I won't judge you:)

Thank you Sir. That leaves more cats for me . . . love to hunt them, big and small!

I really hate hunting female animals. That was just how I was raised. I also don't hunt young animals or those pregnant/nursing. I won't hunt feral cats because I am a cat person.

When speaking about African game, I won't hunt monkeys (except maybe baboons), cheetahs/leopards, or the tiny antelope. I also have difficulty with the lion and elephant. While I want to hunt them more than anything, I am still not sure I could actually pull the trigger.
