Any of you who own either of these in a .375, please give your input on these rifles? I am trying to decide on a .375 to purchase, and have found both of these at reasonable prices, while also looking at Winchester and CZUSA.

Thank you

kimber , winchester or Cz are all great rifles , the CZ needs minor work out of the box but once done it is right up there .

I dont know the Montana .

I have a .375 H&H built on a Montana Rifle Co action. It functions flawlessly and has the smoothest action of all my bolt action rifles.

Thanks guys. Bassasdaindia, do you own one of these in .375? One of the things I am trying to figure out is the Kimber worth spending a little more on than the other guns? Does anyone know of any gun review websites? I cant find any reviews on the Kimber

I do , IMHO the M70 is the best of the bunch , HOWEVER I find the M70 in 375 to be heavy and it doesn't feel balanced when I shoulder the rifle , I also have a M70 in 416 Rem and I prefer this rifle and caliber to my 375

my CZ 550 , which I have had worked on including shortening the barrel feels the best of my 375's , and when ever I grab a 375 for a hunt I reach for my CZ first .

your question will have multiple answers from different hunters , I recommend you shoulder all your rifles and pick what feels best for you.

in closing , all 3 rifles that you suggest are all good rifles ...... go with what feels best for you.

That is great advice! However I'm guessing @reedy0312 is going to have a difficult time finding a Talleetna to shoulder. Thus his search for reviews and personal experience with it.

Not a 375 but I looked at a couple MRC rifles yesterday. Very smooth actions on those and the distibuter rep came running over to brag about them... I politely agreed that they seemed very nice and the calibers (26 Nosler) called me over to look. However I have a buddy who had a MRC gun with lots of problems and very poor service from the company. I went on to explain I was intrigued by the guns and even the price... but just could not get over that bad service if there were to be a problem... The guy sort of melted away...... I suspect he had heard it before. I do think the chances are good that you would get a great gun. But if not???

Huge vote for the Winchester here. Second, for me, would be a CZ, which I would send to Wayne at American Hunting Rifles for his #2 upgrade package ($1,450). Total $$ into the rig would be around $2,500, and, to me, you'd have a nicer rifle than the Kimber or the Montana. Just my opinion. Good luck!

Thanks guys! Yes Bob unfortunately where I live in NC, a .375 is not a popular caliber, so I cant fine even 1 to put my hands on of any manufacturer without paying Cabelas, Gander, Bass pro, or a local gun shop to purchase a gun to be shipped to my store. I was able to hold a CZ at a Cabelas in another state recently, but that's it. So, the search continues. Again thanks for all the input. From all what I have read and researched, it looks the a Win Model 70 will be hard to beat in this price range.

One of my friends here in Alaska (Skip Chadwell) has an MRC in .375 H&H and is very happy with it.
He just returned from Africa where he used it for buffalo and "PG" with perfect results.

On the other hand, Matt85 had nothing but grief from his MRC in .505 Gibbs, finally sending it back for a hard won but only partial refund.

I currently have two rifles in .375 H&H (I've heard rumors of other versions besides the H&H, coming and going over the years - lol).
One of my .375s is a Whitworth Mauser, with some modifications and my best one is a 1980's vintage Brno 602, also slightly modified to my strange taste.

The Brno 602 is significantly similar to the current CZ 550.
Therefore, the CZ would be my vote, among the ones mentioned in the OP.
However, I also very much like the current Model 70 Winchester in the H&H version.

I have a Montana rifle in 375 H&H it is the Alaskan rifle similar to what you are looking at.

I have only had it to the rifle range and it shoot as well or better then i can.

I did change the rifle pad and added a recoil reducer to the stock, to tame the recoil a bit.

Trigger is adjustable (trigger pull) and one of the best that i have seen and the action is very smooth.

As far a service from Montana rifle, i sent my rifle to them for some work and it was back within the week. I thought their customer service was very good. Called and visited with them a few times and they were always helpful in answering any and all questions...

Call them and ask them about the rifle letting them know you are just checking and thinking about purchasing one. Explain that where you live you have not been able to find one to put your hands on and they may have a dealer in your area that they would send one to for you to check it out.

James,

Thanks for the suggestion! I think I will call a few of the manufacturers to see if at least one of them can send one my way to take a look at.

Ive got a Montana V2 extreme in .375 H&H and its been flawless, the barrel is a fat bugger with a fair amount of its weight out front, good stock , pad and accuracy.

Reedy with most all rifles there are those who have experienced issues and those who have not and just love the rifle. For instance @matt85 could share his problems with you on a Montana Rifle. Some have had issues with the Ruger Guide Gun where as I have not. I'm no expert but would just say visit the gun stores that have plenty of rifles and shoulder a few. See if it feels right.
I know your hunt is coming up so have you chosen a rifle and are you taking it to the range a lot?
Get comfortable with whatever you have chosen
