SCI Mobilizes Members to Reverse Airline Shipping Bans - UPDATE: More Airlines Added

Sent, however I would love to know why there is only 3 American based airlines on the list. No offense to our American brothers/sisters but it is Safari Club INTERNATIONAL. There are many more international based airlines with bans on as well and many international hunters who are affected. I'm glad to see some progress but let's not restrict ourselves to one country.

Done!

I have only flown Delta to Africa (twice). Business is like politics. Form letters are generally ignored, email better, typed and signed better still, pen and ink the gold standard.

I logged into my Delta account and left this in the feedback with a response requested.

"As you can see from my file I have traveled to Africa twice with you and will be traveling again May 2016.

Sadly Delta has chosen to stop transporting legally harvested animals because of an emotional explosion devoid of scientific fact in the twitterverse.

I trust that your hasty decision to deny transport of legally harvested animals will be reversed. If not as much as I enjoy flying Delta I will be taking all my future business to a more hunter friendly airline.

Sincerely"
You're absolutely right, one hand-written and signed letter carries more weight than thousands of form letters which take no time, no thought and no real commitment from the sender.

Particularly if you have traveled with that particular airline. Return business is very important

response from Delta, seems it is being pushed up the line

Dear Brian,

RE: Case Number 17131106

Thank you for your email to Delta. We are grateful for you taking the
time to share your thoughts with us.

Delta has banned the shipment of all lion, leopard, elephant, rhinoceros
and buffalo trophies worldwide as freight. Prior to this ban, Delta's
strict acceptance policy called for absolute compliance with all
government regulations regarding protected species. Delta will also
review the acceptance policies for other hunting trophies with the
appropriate government agencies and other organizations that support
legal shipments.

We value customer feedback and appreciate you taking the time to contact
us. We understand your feelings surrounding this issue, and we are
grateful you took the time to let us know how our actions have been
perceived. Your concerns have been reported to the appropriate
leadership for internal review.

We appreciate your selection of Delta and will always welcome the
opportunity to be of service.

Sincerely,

Robert Gonsalves

Then the next time I write them will be with a copy of their competitors ticket that I will have purchased.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet on the thread but pity SCI has limited the letter to members only. Hypothetically speaking of course, what would happen if a non-member submitted a letter ?

I will let you know, as I am not an SCI member but I sent the letters anyway.

Love it!

It's great they finally got around to doing something. But once again they are not reaching out to the non hunting public. The general public are the ones putting enormous pressure on the airlines , media , and eventually our government.

That's a fair question. I'm sure they are limited budget wise. There are only about 80,000 SCI members, but they should have started a media bomb, asking member and non-members to bombard the airlines to stop this BS.

Howdy Jane,

The way I read it SCI is not limiting the campaign to members only.

Quote from the link in the OP: "SCI is calling on its members and other concerned hunters and outdoorsmen to sign and forward letters to the CEOs of all three of these airlines and let them know that we will not take this ban lying down."

I had the same response and I am a platinum member, but I also filed a live complaint with customer service. They are open Monday - Friday.

SCI is not limiting this to members only. Anyone can log on to that website submit their letter to the airlines.
I sent the link out to everyone in my address book and have received a number of emails back saying DONE! and thanks for the link
So, send the link to eveyone you know and ask them to submit!

Would love to see all AH members take action as a collective group. Is there a way Jerome to have a different thread, ie Call to Action versus a normal thread when these issues arise. This impacts all of us and WE must collectively respond.

i sent all mine but got them sent back to me from sci, dont answer????
Edward, I've been waiting for clarification about this question myself since early Saturday morning.
If I hear something I will post it here.

Great thought!

There are thousands of us.

Maybe an AH.com mass mailer with a link and a mention that you do not have to be a member to participate?

If the thousands of us called Delta it would get their attention

Great Idea, that way you are speaking to a real person, tying up resources and directly getting your message across.
