Nice and swift move Phil. Congrats on a great gun! ... I saw the gun originally posted and thought it a bit high with the info provided. Then saw the extra bit of info regarding the neighbor and few shots I was sold and then saw you got it. I'm very happy for you and you saved me from explaining another gun to my wife. Who snuck up on me yesterday and peeked into the safe... Not good when she wanted to know if the other one was just as full.
You know it is nice having a little break now and then.... I'm not completely gone over the cliff of big bore fanaticism as some we know.. I took my 300 Win mag Ruger express out the other day it was fun to shoot.A .300 is too small for you anyway Bob.
I'm actually sitting back and admiring Phil's decisiveness!Uh oh. Somebody's in the dog house!
Is that a funny new hat or a cast iron skillet on yer head? And your man card is officially renewed for another year!

And just for fun I picked up a Marlin 338 MX last week and the seller told me how it was a hard kicker. That was really soft feeling as I shot those 505 Gibbs loads @matt85 made up first... Those were not as bad as some but still plenty spicy
Don't mind a bit. I'm hunting with Numzaan Safaris. PH is Jean-Louis Viljoen. Jean-Louis has become a good friend, even though this will be our first hunt together. I was introduced about 5 years ago through a buddy of mine who had hunted with him several times. Since then we've gone shooting together, shared meals and introduced our better halves to each other as he and his wife Jana come to the states in winter. So it feels like I'm getting ready to go hunting with an old friend. With Lion and Leopard on the menu that is comforting feelingIda, if you don't mind me asking, what safari company are you going with?
