Haven't been here in a while and have been very busy with other things. I tagged out on the first day and no-one else filled their tags until day 3 and 4. My hunting partner, a 70+ year old farmer from Kingston,ON, CA had his Winchester 100 in .243 Win. break on him during zeroing. So, after I tagged out, I loaned him my rifle and he got some fine bulls with it too. Anyway, the Hornady 140 gr. SSTs performed brilliantly with no animals lost or wounded. All shots were passes through, even a kidney shot on my first bull impacted the opposite hip (shattering it), traveled down the femur(shattering it), and exiting the knee near the Achilles tendon. The other shots were all in the golden triangle and impacted the opposite rib (shattering the impacted rib bone) and exiting. So, no bullets found and no parts of bullet found in the meat or the animal hide. The capes and antlers are with Philippe Gentile, Taxidermiste near Montreal, QC, CA for mounting. When I tagged out the first day, it was kind of lucky because as soon as we stepped onto the shore from the boat, they just started pouring out of a cut in the ridge and then moved swiftly to another cut that went across a neighbouring ridge. Quite the excitement, 6 shots, with a magazine exchange, 2 in the first 'bou, one in the 2d 'bou, and 3 over and under the 3d one before they made the next cut and out of range. They move quickly and was trying to get the first 2 caribou down to clear the shooting lane, that's how clustered and tight it was in there. All in all a good trip and would do it again!
