How is the walking going?

The walking is going great. The Federal ammo is for my backup rifle and I haven't shot any yet but will before the hunt!

Glad the walking is going well! You will be happy you did! ;)

Ya Charlie that would be a long time not to shit. Lol. Can't wait to see photos and your report.

You know Johnny that would be a long time to wait to shit! I hate iPads and the spacing between the I and the O!

Although as I think about it.... After 33 days it would definitely be an elephant sized shit!!! :E Shocked:

OK, I'm done now. ;)

Have Mercy!

I am anxiously awaiting the write up from this hunt. A trophy elephant hunt might be out of reach for me but tuskless deals pop up from time to time. I think following a jumbo on foot would be the ultimate hunt for sure. To top it off another hunt with Pieter. You will enjoy your hunt with him.

It's coming Charlie, it's coming. Honest.

If I really know that in a month and a half or less I gonna be hunting my Elefant.......I couldn´t live with that......I really don´t know how you are living with that Charly.........lissent to me........you gonna be hunting Elephant soon.......What are you feeling bud....????

Charlie, good luck, keep up the good work training, shooting, etc. The best advice I have ever been given is "your most important weapon is between your ears," meaning keep the positive attitude you already have, and be confident in your training. Have a great trip!

Warbird,Brickburn and Rocket you guys know I am excited. Working is becoming more and more difficult every day. I'm excited on so my levels it's hard to describe. Pieter and I arrived at an arrangement over five months ago and I still have another to go! Yet I am executing my duties with a sense of purpose because I know that my well deserved time off is close at hand. Furthermore, the fiscal year at work is winding down in another week and I'm ready for a new one to begin. This is when the time off to unplug is needed the most!
Everything is ready for the hunt.
Yep not many people get to hunt an elephant and many of those don't have their son with them while doing it so I'm twice blessed. Pieter just needs to find me the right elephant and I need to shoot straight! Easier said than done but I understand the area we are hunting has lots of the big rascals so the finding them part I'll just leave to Pieter. I'll most likely decide at the last possible moment which rifle to take the shot with between the 416 and 458 Lott! Im Thinking in the clear or any distance over 25 yards and it's the 416. Heavy cover for the big boy and it will most likely be the Lott. Either way he is going down.
Brickburn don't forget to get Pieter all rested up and focused on finding a big one for me! Looking forward to hearing about your hunt in progress!
Charlie

Kman I think you are exactly right. The mind is a powerful weapon!

Well I don't know what Charlie is all thinking right now.... But I have a pretty good idea of what he will be thinking when he ducks under some bushes, stands up and as he is moving to unhook a thorn but Pieter grabs him by the shoulder and motions to be very very quite but then slowly points past the tree less than 40 yards away and a large grey shape slowly takes form, then an ear moves, a little sun flashes off a tusk, and maybe the trunk moves to place a leafy branch into a very large odd shaped mouth.... Charlie is going to be thinking "It's a frinkin Elephant and it is right there!" And he is going to be in awe how they could have walked up to something so big and he did not see it sooner.

Charlie,
I'm so excited for you. Enjoying the hunt of a lifetime with your son and the memories you both will bring home. Have a great trip! I too will hopefully get to pursue a tuskless at some point, since a bull is out of my price range. I will be hunting lioness with Pieter the end of September and the anticipation is killing me. Stay safe, be well, and shoot straight.
Regards,
Mike
