Well it was a quick 7 day hunt, but that's all I could fit in time wise and budget wise and although it was short it was a great time/safari, as I stayed on the PH's ranch with his family and met a bunch of new friends as well. I was back with my old PH Freddy Smith and he delivered, as we took a free range Kudu on a potato/onion farm that was just shy of 59" with 12" bases. Took a great bushbuck on the Limpopo river, it was an old ram with lots of character and to top it off 17" horns. Also took a couple nice pigs and we seen a monster that we just could catch up with again, but hey that's hunting, not that we didn't put in the last few days looking for him.. Also took a very good impala ram that was 23" with good bases and a big blue wildebeest with a great cape and a very good set of heavy horns with good bases and 28'' wide, but to me in the case of the blue, it was more due to the dark face and nice dark stripes that got my attention!!! Sorry guys, I am not much for story telling, as I cant hold a candle to most of you, but I thought I would send a few pics of this yrs safari!!! Cheers,

Just drag and drop them into place.

Looks like a great hunt! I really like that bushbuck!

Great trophies Gary! Now that Kudu is the thing of dreams at 59"

You got some great trophies Gary. Congratulations.

Thanks for the report and photos.(y)

Great trophies of some classic South Africa species ... hard to think of a better way to spend seven days! Well done.

Hell , they are neat trophies !
Awesome Kudu and what an amazing Blue wildebeest skin see why you rated it .
Cheers Dory .

Very good use of 7 days.

Very nice trophies.
Thanks for sharing the bare bones!

That is getting it done on a short trip. all great animals also. I would take any of them in a heart beat.

Love the Kudu and Bushbuck! Well done Gary!!

Thxs guys and although it was a short trip, all came together for me, as Freddy had done his homework and we had some great areas to hunt. The kudu was my primary target and he was free range, so taking something not that far off of the magic 60" mark, probably makes him my favorite so far of all my African trophies. And just before I took the bushbuck, a big tom leopard stepped out to drink at a pool only 250 m from us and stayed there for 3 to 4 minutes, he was very relaxed and even laid down after he was done drinking!!! He was impressive to say the least, he was dark with a big head/shoulders, for me that made the trip. Sadly the camera was back at the truck, but he is etched into my memory bank, what a magnificent animal!!! That being said it doesn't make me want to take one, I get more excited by horns..

Around the Alldays area.

Looks like those short 7 days were much better than the 7 days I spent here this summer. lol.

Great Kudu and bush buck! I d drop that Kudu in a heart beat

I love the bushbuck.I can never get to many bushbuck,s.Thank you for sharing John

THxs guys, here is a cool picture of the PH setting up the bushbuck on a dried up sand bar on the river and the other is the landowner and myself with the kudu that I took on his farm, he helped us track it down and finish it off, as it took a few nervous hrs to catch up with him and finish off what I started..
