@Royal27, that would work great for your blue duiker!

I noticed you put the rifle up on Gunbroker but the auction closed and has not reappeared. While that's far more gun than I would ever need, I know another lefty who was practically drooling over this rifle. He's located in Pennsylvania, not all that far from you. If you'd like, I can reach out to him if the rifle is still for sale. let me know. --Tony

sure..I really appreciate the help Tony. the rifle has been placed back into my safe until bear season opens up later in the fall :) but I'm still interested in selling if there is interest. please reach out to your friend and then let me know. i'll shoot you a private message with my email and contact info.

thanks again,

Jeremy

Jeremy -- thanks! I'll reach out to him and get back to you.

Man....

This one would sure be cool!!! I've always wanted a left-hand M70 too.... And it would be cool to have a not so common caliber too.

This ain't in the budget today though. :(

Well, I saw this about 2 minutes ago and told Kathy "Royal better not see this".

Too late I guess, by about 4 months!

Royal...credit card! Do it just like the U.S. Government....borrow the money! lol

Are you interested in selling dies, brass and bullets?

hey guys,

I moved jobs so I've been away from the boards for a while. I'm going to pull this out of the safe and see I can find it a new home. hopefully this time it works...

new email is Jeremy@keystonemunitions.com so please don't use the one in the original post.

thanks,

Riggs

What do you want for the reloading stuff? I am right handed and currently building one.

You're migrating towards my price range, let me ask you: what did the gun start out as and do you have the original barrel? Whats going on at the butt? Is it flush with the stock? Thanks, Richard

Don't have the original barrel, rifle started life as a Winchester M70 Classic....obvious due to the left handed action. The butt is a recoil reducing pad...actually moves a bit and absorbed a good bit. It's for perfectly and looks great for what it is. I bought this rifle from a gentleman who was in his 70's and taming the recoil was a big deal to him....personally I would rather not have it there because of looks but there not too many left handed big bore winchesters floating around to pick and choose from.

Let me know if you have questions...more than happy to answer them. I'm also still willing to split up the rifle from the reloading stuff as there is a member here who already expressed he'd take them if I sold the rifle seperately.

Yes I picked up on it being a Winchester Model 70 LH, curious to know what cartridge the gun was originally chambered for. I'll go back and re-read the intro, but if the Smith/Maker for the gun is known and not previously mentioned I would be interested in who made it. LOP to end of stock/wood? Thanks for getting back. Richard

Let me see if I can track down the smith...all those emails were when I worked at my previous job and I no longer have access to them...but I may have it written down somewhere. I'm pretty sure he was in Arizona.

I'll measure LOP...I know it's just a tad shorter than most would want. I think it may already be noted in the post. Whenever I've hunted with the rifle it was always just iron sights so it never really bother me.

I'm totally aware that most guys would want to get the rifle into another stock because of that recoil reducer. I totally understand because if I was going to keep this rifle id be doing the same.

Also...I had someone ask me if I'd be willing to take trades...the answer is always yes to that. So feel free to make offers...worst I could do is say no thank you.

I am looking for a couple new lenses for my canon...and I'm always interested in firearms of course :)

LOP is listed at 13". I was assuming the LOP was measured to the end of the stock plus the add on pads. Since I thought the 13" included the recoil pad, I was curious what LOP is to end of stock -wood only without pad-recoil reducer. Also inquiring about what cartridge the factory chambered the gun for original, and if you can the Smith. Before you put too much effort into finding your Gunsmith, the first two questions pose a lot of bearing for my degree of interest.

LOP to end of wood stock is 11"
