Hello Chap (and any Chappetts)!

Just wondering if anybody has any experience with the above mentioned bullets? I would intend them to be used on deer in the UK and PG in Africa. Any help would be super :P Cowboy:

Drive it fast to overcome the poor aerodynamics and you risk over-stressing the bullet.

Too many better choices for African PG.

For under 200 pound animals at shorter ranges the Hornady is ok. Just not a good general purpose PG bullet IMO.

What animals and what ranges?
 
Well I'm book up for a wildebeest, warthog, impala and a blesbock. As for range not a clue as I have never hunted Africa
 
If I was taking my 375 after that lot i'd be shooting the 235 Speer most likely.

I have killed a handful of whitetail and wild hog with that bullet.
 
Or the 235 TSX.
 
unless you are hunting in Namibia or the Kalahari region, most shots will be 100m or less. you don't need a "flat" shooting cartridge, just use normal 270gr or 300gr Hornady or Federal ammo (not sure if you are reloading or use factory ammo). 235gr TSX works great for the "lighter side of the .375" as well as local manufactured (SA) Impala 220gr bullets. Using these makes the .375 as tame as a 30-06...
 
I would be reloading. How does the sierra GK 300 grn and 250 grn perform?? I have heard that they are rather soft and start to break up if you push them too fast!
 
If you are reloading with softer bullets, just keep speeds under 2,300 fps. I am not a real fan of using softer bullets, but for putting holes in paper its fine. In Africa you are always shooting at something in a bush, thus avoid softer bullets and use the best you can buy. A 300gr soft type bullet (Sierra) at 2,000 fps will do better than a 270gr Sierra at 2,500 fps (do need "flat" shooter in bushveld areas)
 
Im guessing that the speer hot core isnt as soft as the sierra
