I have been wondering, when the people on this website are planning to go to Africa again? Has the economy had a effect on your decision?

The economy has had a definite effect at my work place. I'm not sure when I will be going back to Africa....but I definitely would like to hunt sable. Might want to do a cape buffalo/sable hunt.

I definitely will not be spending as much money on taxidermy. I think I will cut that part out of my budget....and that goes for North America too. I remember the hunting, more than anything...and I only have so much space in my house too.

Hi Enysse.

Next year 2011, will be the "Africa Year". February RSA and plains game.
May, we are going for a explorer hunt on Zambezi river from Tete upto Cahora Bassa, and after these 5 days, we are back at camp Nhenda, for plains game, lion, and most of all BIG crocodiles..
October/November Mozambique and elephant.....
Have to recommend something very very crazy, and that is night hunt in moon light, and hunt for hippos on land.... absolutely the most exiting hunt ever....

I will be heading over in July.

The more i hunt, the less i want to spend on taxidermy! The prices quickly add up and i couldn't agree more. Just like owning a double rifle...i'd love to have one but i'd rather hunt more with that money instead of having a cool gun in the safe.

i will be heading there in june to namibia. 2 weeks of touring and then a mountain zebra hunt as well as red hartebeest, gemsbok, etc. as well as some tiger fishing. i myself will be saving some money on the taxi as the walls are filling up and with the money i save , i can make a return trip.

Hi Enysse,

I will go to RSA in May (plains game) and Tanzania September/October (big five).

Hi Enysse,
You are not the only one that will be skipping the taxidermy. I am working with Gert Coetzee. He is one of our latest new members and posted here:
http://www.africahunting.com/hunts-...sive-personalized-african-hunting-videos.html

A lot of the guys are choosing to have their trip taken on camera by a professional videographer like Gert. His work is really good and you will have that memory forever, and in real time. It also saves you a lot of space in the house! Plus , your DVD lands at your doorstep in less than a month!

All the best,
Marius Goosen

Thanks for the positive responses, I have learned a lot from being on here for almost 2 years. I log onto this website...because it does have some very serious hunters on here...that have a ton of experience. I recently got married this year....to a wonderful women....who has brought a lot of joy and happiness to my life. Someone I enjoy going home to at the end of the hunt or the end of the day at work....because I do spend a lot of time at my job.

My wife doesn't like taxidermy mounts....she likes European Mounts....or just well shot camera pictures. I still will have some things mounted. Like a sable.....but most things are not going to be mounted....unless you count a european mount. And there is only so much room for any amount of mounts. I have truly found that after 25+ years of hunting....the memories mean more than anything. That being said....everyone that visits my house is very surprised about the size of the animals....and the beauty too.

I really would like to hunt leopard, roan, sable, and a cape buffalo hunt yet....and I have at least 40 good years yet to attempt to fill my hunting goals and give myself some great memories. I'm saving money towards that goal.

15 Hunting days in the Omay for Leopard and buffalo during May along with a couple of days relaxing in Vic Falls.

After we complete the taxidermy work from our 2011 trip we will be very selective on what we mount. The leopard for sure and one more kudu for my wife and not much else after that.

My first trip is in May 2011. I plan to only have 2 either shoulder or pedestal mounts, and that is only if I get both a Gembok and a Kudu. Hartebeest, springbok, and anything else will be european. I only have one whitetail shoulder mount, and all the rest or european or just horn mounts. I like the shoulder mounts better to showcase either the best one, or the most striking colors. My target is 4 to 6 trophies for 9 days 2x1.

The plan is to head back to RSA in the Eastern Cape in 2012. On my list is an Eastern Cape kudu, bushbuck, and warthog. The maybe's are reedbuck, bushpig, black wildebeest, and other color phases of blesbok and springbok. Then we;re going to head over to the Free State and do some bird hunting.

I went Buffalo hunting last night in Zimbabwe.

And then I woke up in Arizona this morning! :reyes: The answer enysse is not soon enough, but no sooner than 2012. Hopefully it will be for buffalo, eland and I'd really like to get a shot at a bushbuck.

I have pushed my next trip back to 2012 (its killing me).
I am still undecide about buffalo. I am definatly keying on Eland and Bushbuck as my main plains game animals.

We will be going in July 2011, RSA, plains game hunting with my 11 year old son. This will be our first trip to Africa and we are very excited. We will be hunting with Cruiser Safaris.

I will be going to Zim in July to hunt Buffalo. This will be my first hunt in Zim, my prior hunts were in Botswana.

I am looking like 2012 will be the time to schedule a trip....and I am looking for a place to go right now. I am open to country, just looking to have a great time. I am looking at the outfitters on this site and others when I attend some fairs in January & February.

I want to Look at Leopard, Eland and Kudu and some plains game when I go.

Right now we have to move and get the house set up and then retire and then take the grand son to Alaska in September for a black bear hunt that he wants to go on.

Plus I will be looking at surgery for my sinuses’ and possibly knees and or hip.

North Mozambique or North Uganda or both with a chance of a trip to Kenya.
Buff and maybe Leopard

not jumbo

bufalo sable 2012

Early July 2011 in Namibia to hunt Kudu and Gemsbok and then later in July to hunt Nyala, Bushbuck in RSA and possibly Buffalo (maybe with a bow). The Buffalo is the one that may be effected by the economy or inadequate impulse control!

I've had 3 hunts in Africa in two years & my wife does not like euro mounts so my taxidermy is shoulder, pedistal, 1/2 or full body.. Ka CHING. I have one more donation hunt I purchased & I WAS going with my som who backed out on me to buy a house...can you imagine???? I was planning on a waterbuck & a couple of springboks, maybe a common diiker
