Best double rifle manufacturer for .600 NE?

Which company would be your favorite here and why?
 
Depending on your budget, don't forget to look at the masters in Ferlach! IMO Their doubles are on par or better than any of the others.
 
I'm sorry if I ask but it's always good with some basic background information, so I check your profile. You are 25 years old from Serbia, right ? So you will most probably use this 600 NE as a client rifle and not a PH stopper ?

Did you have experienced to shoot with a 600 ? And even if you have, I think it's perhaps not the best choice, if you never have flinch before the risk to start is big....

Go for a 470 NE, nice kick if it's correct balanced, and if you learn to shoot it well there is nothing that will kill more effective than a 500 gr Woodleigh or Trophy Bonded in the 470...

Surprised by all the H&H love here. Never been the best gun out there and they didn't make any of their branded guns for a big part of their firm's existence. Everyone's entitled to their opinion of course.

Of the ones that i have put in my hands and handled, I liked the Westley Richards and Anderson Wheeler the best. both company's are very busy and their is a 3 year back log in production. However, in looking at it realistically for me, i would rather spend the money on a few hunts then wait 3 years for the rifle to be made. I did the 3 year delay in having a shotgun engraved a few years back, and will not do it again. Being retired, Heck, i may not be around in 3 years.
 
how about looking at getting a double in 9.3x74r to start with, as you can use it to shoot boar , deer etc in serbia and most animals anywhere in the world , and then move onto a .450 NE or .470 later on . here is a nice chapuis in 9.3x74r

H&H, .......nice if you have a $100,000 or more to spend, and don't mind waiting 2-3 years.
 
100K won't come close to a Holland.
Vintage or new? New, a Verney Caron is the best bang for the buck. Mid 20K will get you a nice rifle.
My 1914 Wilkes .600 is a pleasure to shoot. The stories of the killing recoil are just hype. I have taken moose, many plains game, water and cape buffalo, and hippo with my .600. It is not needed, but anything over the .450-.470 group is really not necessary. But it we are in this game to shoot what we want, not what we only need.

H&H announced they would no longer build .600 doubles about 25 years ago. I suppose things can change. Ferlach, and Hartmann and Weiss make the best rifles I have ever personally seen and held.............................FWB

H&H came to an agreement a while ago with the gent who bought the "last" .600 that they said they would build, and are building them again if you want one.
 
Gents:
The last Holland .600 was ordered in 1970 and delivered in 1975. I was at the owner's house the other day for a visit whilst I'm in the lower 48. It was an agreement it was to be the last made. (An unsubstantiated rumor is Holland was also to build a last .577 and .500 but never did so). About ten years later a California gent wanted a .600 and was denied so he built the .700 between him, Bell brass, and Holland. After this, Holland had many requests for more .600s. An agreement was made to resume production and gave the owner of the .600 a pair of Royal 20 bore shotguns in separate cases. I've seen and handled the shotguns also. The story and pics are in my book on the .600s (thought I'd add a plug for the book here).
