Are there any specific requirement for the importation of meat from PG and DG as well as the suitability of the different game as food. Also if anyone has any recipes for this meat I would be grateful if you shared them especially for grilling.

I am assuming you are talking about from Africa to USA. If so, in short.... you can't.

Africa you can't. What I didn't know until too late was I could of brought back 50 lbs from my red stag in New Zealand............ Bruce

Can I at least eat it while there?

We have specified to my PH that we want to eat some of the animals we hunt on our next safari. There was a very recent thread on what animals in Africa that hunters liked the best. Bruce

And I would suggest you try anything once. To me that is half the fun.

They're all good but Zebra was my favorite!

Do you have the information/document or can you point me to the document that said you can bring back 50lbs from New Zealand? Thanks

I ran across it just when I returned. Been a year ago. I' m on my way out of the country right now and can't properly research it. Sorry bruce

I've got to try Zebra. Seems like you either hear it is inedible or awesome and I want to find out for myself.

A possibility of meat import to check:
Can a dried meat, biltong, if vacuumed be imported to other countries, EU or USA, or Canada?

No meat can be imported from Africa. Even if it could it would cost as much as Wagu beef by the pound.

You can only legally bring meat from Mexico and Canada into the US.

What about EU?

If I can at least take some biltong or droëwors with me, that would be great.
One can always try in the checked luggage?

I have had friends from Germany take vacuum packed biltong and droewors with them. Their luggage was not searched and could enjoy eating it there. But I know as well that sometimes it gets confiscated but that was it. Most probably eaten by the customs officer.

So we are on to something. Confiscation without fine is not worth mentioning!
