G'day Fellow Hunters
My formal training is in the biological sciences (B.Sc.) and marketing (Grad. Dip.); I've spent 5 years in agricultural research before working the next 23 years the pharmaceutical & biotechnology sector. More recently I've worked in the New South Wales (Australian State) Parliament for the Hon. Robert Borsak of the Shooters and Fishers Party. I've been a keen hunter since I was about 15. I detest animal rights extremists who tell me I shouldn't hunt and politicians who think all gun owners are criminals. I maintain a sizeable collection of published papers and reports on conservation and wildlife management; I enjoy doing what I can to promote Sustainable Use to naive government agencies and change their anti-hunting/anti-gun policies. I'm currently working with Robert Borsak on "rectifying" the ban on importation of African lion hunting trophies into Australia recently announced by our federal Environment Minister Greg Hunt: http://www.environment.gov.au/biodiversity/wildlife-trade/cites/stricter-measures/african-lion

Welcome to the forum!

I'm sure your efforts and dedication is appreciated by all.

Information is power and will hopefully trump ignorance in the end....

Steve, welcome to AH.com.

As I just recently conveyed to Robert, the work, time and effort people like yourself dedicate to the protection and defense of our sport is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your efforts, I hope you get the time spare to enjoy the sport for yourself on the occasion.

Regards,

Paul Truccolo.

I am most likely typical of a lot of Aussie hunters in that I do my thing and just go along quietly not taking a lot of notice of the goings on in outside world. As my guiding season is about to begin the response to the tragic death of Ian Gibson has really brought home what we are up against as hunters and gun owners. I for one am great-full that there are people such as yourself and Robert Borsak standing up for people like me and your work has encouraged me to stand up.
