Proof of Ownership??!?!?

So after reading the article, how do you prove the gun is yours? Does a 4457 prove ownership of your rifles and pistols? Or to you need something more? What about the new "non-registration" procedures to take your guns out of the country?

Like many of you, I have some guns that have been pasted down. What would you do?

I can speak from a Canadian perspective (experience) where registration lead to hundreds of thousands of confiscations, without a penny of compensation (Liberal / Progressive governments). My advice is to only admit to those guns you use to hunt and hide the rest. The only reason a government registers anything it 1. tax it. 2. confiscate (a polite word for theft) it.

Look what they did to law abiding folks when Katrina hit. confiscated the firearms and only the thugs had them. It's scary to think that someone can file a charge against you, if it's true or not doesn't matter,
there goes your firearms.
When they start looking at peoples medical reports and medications, more will be confiscated, even if it's not for you. Why are there questions on medical forms about gun ownership?
My sons pediatrician asked if I had firearms in the house. I said of course. He just kind of looked at me.

I actually asked my doctor why he had asked me and he said it was because the prescription I was taking could cause depression and he wanted to be aware of if I had easy access to firearms. Not sure about the validity of his answer but I just thought it was interesting that I was asked (like he couldn't tell from my holster).

When a doctor asked me that I asked him if he was having sex his nurse. He said that was an out of line question. I told him his question was also out of line. Then went to another doctor who did not ask. I went to him an injury to my leg to start with

well done. I would have done the same if it wasn't so damned near impossible to get a family doctor up here in the socialist workers paradise.

I had a doctor ask me one time if I had guns in the house and I said yes. She asked how many, and I said LOTS!

Once a year when my wife drags me kicking and screaming to my doctor, he asks to see pictures of my last hunting trip. He happily refills my malaria and ciprio prescriptions. I just realized how lucky I am. I better keep him, and not put up a fight.

Couple of months ago I went to see my dentist.......he asked me if I had shot any lions lately with a big grin on his face.......I told him "Don't look at me, it's your compadre who did the deed. Then he got quite and before I could continue stuck his fingers in my mouth. He's a great guy though and I get to share and practice conservation ideas with him. He even put up photos of live animals I photographed in his office waitng room. My barber has photos of my trophies on her wall. She's great.

I show respect where it is earned and it sure hasn't under these socialist bastards ruining the country my father and grandfather fought two world wars to defend. As for your snide anti-American slight I find that bigotry truly disgusting. If you want people who share that type of anti-Americanism go troll CBC where you will find many of your fellow travelers

I've actually never met an American I didn't like or get along with, besides on construction manager flown in from Alabama to save the day who told his crew of 400 men that we "weren't nothing but a bunch of snow n****rs."

My grandfather also fought for this country under a Liberal government who's leader laid the foundation for Canada becoming a welfare state. There's a reason we are continually rated as one of the top countries to live in, and it's not our lovely winter climate. It may not be perfect, but I'm more than proud to call it home.

The Liberals of old would not recognize the Liberals we have now. Chretien, Martin even Trudeau Sr. Would not tolerate the level of pandering and taxation envisioned today. If you suggested to Justin's father that the Canada health Act was to be a health management system that would absorb a third of the provincial budget and that requires the top tax bracket to pay 53%, he would crap his tailored pants. Lloyd Axworthy acknowledged that it was only meant to be an insurance not a management system. But in the name of all that is holy we tolerate a year waiting list for spine surgery. That is what is wrong. The new Liberals are literally destroying our country while invoking the good deeds of their predecessors. Our health system is 10th in the Commonwealth. Our unemployment rate is >6% but we have welfare. But it is opium for the masses. Oh good, welfare. But, we don't look after disabled kids as well as the USA, we have an educational system that is slipping compared to the world. Of course we can be angry. The leaders today are an embarrassment to all of the awesomeness that inhabits our country. Canadians rock but we are still putting our faith in a bunch of people who are selling you lotus land. Canada was about immigration, multiculturalism and hard work. Now it is about what can this country give me. We are distinctly not American but we can't think we have nothing to learn from out southern brothers.

Soooooo.... Now that we have gone down the rabbit hole. Back to the original question... How do you prove ownership? Does the 4457 work? do you need more proof? What meets the legal definition of proof of ownership?
