Very nice. Excellent conversation piece when you have the room.

OUTSTANDING TROPHY! Congrats to the huntress.

Do not see many in trophy rooms. Their hide is very thick, costly to shoot, ship, tan and mount.
I have one to do for a client.
One is on my list when I return to Namibia in 2016.

Thanks y'all. If shoot have tanned over there it will save Cape from slippage. Make sure if you do shoot and want to use that form it is a BIG bull and they save plenty of cape. Riser did a nice job as far as tanning and did great with the balls on top of horns. Thanks he is approximately 11ft tall. They are expensive to mount compare to other plains game. The tanning over there was $950 us, the form with shipping was $1500, eyes $50, plus Taxidermist fees. I am friends with mine so I paid material to save him out of pocket. Plus what ever extra shipping the added weight was and I kept the skull as well. Definitely worth it, it is an eye catcher for sure. Again thanks for all the kind words. She got roughed up a bit on the internet when she posted pics, but she used it as chance to educate the tree huggers. Strong young lady that loves to hunt and believes on conservation for the future.

Great mount. Do you know what brand form was used? My wife plans to hunt giraffe this summer in Zim. Hope she is as fortunate as your daughter. What caliber did she use?

The form is new by research manikins, she took it with 7mm/08 with 140gr tsx to neck with no back up necessary but ph had his 450 and I had my 300 ready if necessary fortunately dropped in his tracks.

Again what a great job and cool mount. Thanks for the reply.

Pretty cool for the young lady! Congrats!
Kinda makes all your other ones seem puny!
I've got one too but mine was given to the local village for food for a month.

They still got the food and the leg bones I just wanted the hide and the skull.

Thanks. It was an awesome hunt. And the taxi did a great job.

Beautiful mount, you lucky dog. My wife is absolutely against me shooting one. I imagine I'll never get to bring one home to the collection:cry:. I even tried to tell her I found the PERFECT place for it over the basement stairs, but was shot down just the same.

I was told to not come home if we shot one by my wife but daughter said better to ask for forgiveness :)

Thanks they really are an awesome animal.

better to ask for forgiveness :)

I use this line probably more than I should! My checkbook wouldn't allow a giraffe on that first go anyway, but one day....:Woot: before I'm :A Wheelchair: it'll happen.:E Laugh:

The giraffe wasn't bad trophy fee the taxidermy is where it goes up :)

Would anyone out there know roughly how much it would cost to have a giraffe hide tanned and shipped to U.S. from Namibia?
