Just got back from Zim with my family last night. We had a fantastic hunt! I took an Impala, Waterbuck, Wildebeast, Kudu, Eland, and a Cape Buffalo. My eight year old son took a Genet Cat with a crossbow and a nice Impala with a 22 Hornet. My twelve year old son took a Warthog and a impala. Wonderful time great hunt!

Glad you did well. Who did you hunt with there?

It's great you got to take your family along. That is a massive old eland, congratulations.

Very glad to hear it worked out well. Hopefully you and your family fell in love with Africa. Did you get to the falls?

Very nice Eland congratulations on a successful hunt!

Best Regards

Louis- Yes, thank you. We are trying to figure a way back now. Still have some bills to pay off on this trip first but we want to put a plan together.
Rastaman-Yes we flew in to Victoria Falls for a very short stay there before hiring a driver to take us to Bulawayo. The Falls are magnificent! Even at the end of the dry season they were amazing. Well worth the effort to see them! Zimbabwe is a beautiful country. It is a shame what has happened to the people there and the economy.
Jaustin-Seeing my kids hunt was exciting for me! It was also nice to have someone to share the success and experience with. Everyone said the Eland was big. This was my first trip so I am still taking in what happened. It is a Livingston Eland and we did not have a tape measure, but we guesstimated his horns to be around 30".

Does anyone know anything about Waterbucks? I am told the Waterbuck I took was a really nice trophy as well.

Sesstoppleman- Wayne Jardein and Shayne Sissons were our PH's.

Hi Mcdomelr

First of all it would largely depend on the trophy quality in the area this might be a very nice waterbuck for the area.

Second the trophy’s beauty is in the eye of the beholder and if you worked for him witch I am sure you did you should be very happy!

Sharing the experience with your kids must have been special and will no doubt be a memory that you will hold deer to your hart for years to come.

Best Regards

Congratulations on such fine animals! Having your family along surely made it more memorable as well.

Congratulations on a very successful first African Safari. It had to be even more special being able to share it with your family and having them actually participate in the hunting.

What great memories you've created with your family! Our "first" safari was also near Bulawayo and our son was 9 at the time. Congratulations!

Thats fantastic! As i am in process of planning my first plains game hunting trip to Zim its great to see recent updates. Having just got back from a week of game fishing with my little fella i appreciate how rewarding these times can be.
Well done on the hunt, i cant wait to get there

Thanks for sharing those wonderful pictures of you with your family on your hunting safari!
