Australia Bans Lion Imports

I can not see how someone could be so against a canned lion hunt and then go out and eat a steak. The cow is just as dead as the lion.

please explain!!

What I mean is if they do not allow lions and elephants to be hunted the ranchers and farmers in Africa are not going to put up with them if they have no value. It like I tell the greeny's "If you like animals so much why are you eating their food"

the only ones that are really going at this are the few hunting orgs. that this effects
atleast one of the ones im a member didn't do squat during this and aren't about to now ,either

I need to make amends here
the hunting org. that I said hasn't and isn't doing sqwat about this is not correct
ive found out today
I was refering to the ABA (AUSTRALIAN BOWHUNTERS ASSOCIATION) the VP for bowhunting , mark burrows , got in touch with me today
as ive been trying to get in touch with him since l was given his contact details
the ABA wasn't notified in any way shape or form that the dishonourable minister for the enviorament was sliding under the table to get law/ban passed
or invited to make comment and put in a valid opinion
so the info that came from the said department , wasn't even close to true .....
and just another curve ball.
the ABA emailed me this afternoon ,saying they are in this fight ,now and will be till we get it fixed .

thought it only fair to square this up

Bluey, this is correct, PHASA had a meeting with the very minister and was assured that all was on par.... A 2 -3 month later and he does this, typical politicians move....

thanks jaco
is it in writing anywhere , that you know of
im trying find out how many people were in a position to apply for their import cites permit , just before this corrupt law/ban was implemented
compared to how many import permits were assessed and granted .
the office people ,are hiding behind the privacy act on this .
I keep telling them I don't want names just the numbers .
so far I know of one guy that told the taxidermist to forget about mounting his lioness and just dipp and ship it before the ban/law was implemented
he seems to be the only one in quite awhile

gday fellas is there any aussies on here that had time to apply for a cites import and have it assessed for approval before the bann,
im asking because when I asked the envioro people they immediately zipped their lip and said they did everything they could to assess the ones that were applied , but wont tell me how many that awas or how many were approved .....
they want to hide behind the privacy act .
im asking numbers , names
so im asking on the forums
if pou or somebody you know has applied for a cites import permit in the six months leading up to the ban
if so were you succssessfull?

Tough situation Bluey...

Add our Vic politicians to our Federal ones and we really are up the creek without a paddle...

This ode to PC crap is really getting me riled up - if we are responsible let us be.

Hope you get it sorted soon... Guess lion is out of the question now...:-(

Hopefully with the Fishers and Shooters party success though mild at the recent elections we have some voices of reason in places that matter. It's about time Aussie hunters start to realise the threat from the antis isn't just a noise and needs to be shut down.

that's spot on troy
Stephan Larson from f&sp
says the exact same thing
he warns that if aussie hunter , don't start getting out there voicing our rights
and asking our local members of office to do what is right .
we will be buried and forgotten

Sadly we are the minority in many countries.

Aristotle said that a rule of the majority must be non-virtuous in practice because it is too difficult to find a majority who can be virtuous.

Never more true than what is occurring in this situation in Aus.

Fellas

Robert Borsak, Ray Hammond (President, SCI Down Under) and I have been working on this since early July last year. We have obtained numerous documents under Australian Freedom of Information (FOI) legislation that reveal the extent of the deception and blatant misinformation perpetrated the Australian Department of the Environment and the Parliamentary Library research staff. I'm waiting on the Department's response to another FOI request and hopefully this will provide another piece of the jigsaw. I'll start posting some of the key documents on AH so everyone can see what's been going on.

Regards
Steve

P.S. Jerome, what the best way to post these documents? Is there a central folder to upload them to or should I send them to you to post? One document is about 12 MB.

Steve, Feel free to upload the document yourself, just drag it and drop it in the in the box where you "Write your reply…". Let me know if you need any further assistance.

Hey Bluey,
If you want I will fly over dress up in a lion costume and beat the piss out of this hunt(pronounced with a "c") after that he will hate the sight of lions and not care where how and if they are killed. Then we can go hunt Samba deer and drink beer!
Honestly hope everything works out for you, bullshit politics is the downfall of all great nations. Makes me sick to hear things like this and absolutely floors me that the bastards get away with it.
