I know this post has me thinking. I think I will have Dakotas lioness mount started now so I can get it shipped sooner then I was planning. Who knows what will happen now that this lion stuff start again.

That is all this is! They are trying to stop hunting one species and one step at a time. This is terrible news and I am afraid the US will do something similiar. Is a feel good politics and nothing to do with the survivial of a species and what is best for conservation.

All the best with this bluey. You should have every right to import a 'legally' hunted animal. Lets hope this issue isn't the start of something bigger for Australian import of foreign game animals. It is so ridiculous and ill informed I am angry about the whole thing. The roll on effects of this dumbass policy to Africa, PH's and especially lions is truly sad.

ive rang nearly everyone I can think of , and left plenty of messages
I really cant believe
1) that a lioness hunted and put into taxidermy ,before this wave ,actually crashed , cant be legally imported ,home
2)I really ,really hope global freight , got the ball rolling on this when l first spoke to them in November

even though its wrong , there should be a cause for pre march 12th hunted lions to be imported .
shit even if your hunt was booked pre march 12th you should have grounds to continue with your hunt and imports .

and if not that wanker politician ,Hunt (same surname as me ) should compensate me and any other hunter that hes pulled the rug out from under .........

Sorry to hear about your situation. Hunt and Wood are green eyed soap dodgers. I wrote multiple letters to multiple Ministers without response. I'll get back onto them tomorrow. I would touch base with Borsak. He is across this matter.

Unfortunately this is typical of our politics where science or evidence plays no part in decisions. It has degenerated into a game where consequences have no standing compared to grabbing some easy populist votes. It is also a sad indictment on our general population who lap this up and these politicians will be hailed as heroes. The anti hunting sentiment in this country, particularly in the media, is quite disturbing. Bluey, I hope things work out.

just spoke to a fella in Sydney (found out we got our own safari club) looks like im going to be a member .....
I need to find out if the importer applied for cites ,when I spoke to him in November .......
l mentioned it to him , and said that you guys done it for me when I brought my caracal home , and that I would leave it up to them
if that's good , im one of the lucky ones
if not im up shit creek with out a paddle....
theres at least ten blokes in the same boat as me .
and it sounds like this dick , that brought the law in ,may have done so under false info .
its not looking real great at the moment . but once I get onshore Thursday I will be able to get more info ,
