TCI (Zimbabwe) at DSC

Maybe you would have some idea how to do this if I can explain it right. I have always want a nyala and will get one next trip. I would love a full body mount but do not havethe space to do one.

We all know what makes a nyala special is all the color of which you lose a lot of if not done in a full mount. I was trying to figure out how you could do a shoulder but have the whole hide tanned and have say the front legs hang down under the mount. Then also have the back run up the wall right from the neck up. So basically a full hide but only the shoulder mount actually mounted on the form. So you would get the all the leg color also

It drove me crazy to only see one horn on that kudu.LOL Like half a trophy but the waterbuck had both. Seemed weird to me really like they did not think it through.

Bill;
We visited TCI in Zimbabwe and I would like to point out that they have been experimenting with these style mounts and what you saw at the show was examples they brought along to show some new ideas..... I'm sure the intent was to show different ways with one horn or two, I doubt that they would say there is only that way of doing it with a kudu or anything else.

Just want to see credit where credit is due... I thought it a brave thing to step out of the ordinary, to "get outside the box", if you will. So I admire Cuan for that.

And Dennis, Wow! Cool idea to implement the continental shape! Taking an idea and running with it and refining as you go. Great creativity as well and I look forward to seeing more to come.

Us consumers of these products are the real winners, having new choices and options within them. (y)

You drop a hint and I immediatly see it. 1/2 nyala coming out the wall , out of the africa motif, same as this, a running pose or jumping pose and the rest of the skin made into the Toile that he comes out of...I have so many ideas I could never make them all .
That would be a stunner...and hang on the wall 48" by 48" the body would come off the african cut out at a 45 degree angel and have both legs and not stick out into the room anymore than a typical should mount. I have the uncanny ability to already see this in my head. make any sense to you?

That is a good idea like that also. I was thinking to limit space it would take to just have the legs run of the shoulder mount and just be skin hanging down that would lay flat on the wall. Then were the shoulder mount stop have the rest of the body skin would run up the wall.

I think your idea maybe just bigger then what I was thinking. I just think bushbuck,nyala and oryx need more of the body and leg colors shown. I don't have the room or the money to do full mounts that must animals deserve. I do have wall space and that's why I was think of my idea.

You have seen my work and my skills so you know I can pull anything off your ideas and make some nice stuff. We would work together and exchange pics and ideas and you know I'd produce a great piece or pieces for you! The leg hanging might be to quick of a transition into the background , that's why I mentioned it. I see the leg transitioning into the flat and most people'e would except the transition but your initial idea might work also.

I know you can pull it off now but I just did not know if it could be done or not. I did not know if I was able to really say what I want that anyone would understand. I guess I want a shoulder mount but a rug mount all in one. Your idea though could work also. I just want all that color of the nyala,bushbuck and oryx really shown. Just really has me wanting to get back sooner now to see what could be done. My trip will be 2016 but I am happy to know my mounts may have away of getting done by the talent and vision you have.

Thank you for the very nice compliments and liking my work and expressions.
I always strive to be unique and creative in my work !
