Well, addiction got the best of me (n) I caved in and added a new in the box Ruger RSM .416 Rigby to the collection!
A while back @Heym 88 parted with a pair of RSM's to make room for his new Searcy .470 NE double and happily, they ended up in my gun safe :) Both are great shooting rifles, the .375 has really proven to be a sweetheart! A little on the hefty side but a joy to shoot and a real tack driver. Still working on tweaking in a final load, but shooting 3/4" 5 shot groups at 100 yards with both A-Frames and Hornady RN 300 grainers.
Anyway, it just seemed like the right thing to do! I've always wanted a .416 Rigby and when a NIB RSM flaunts itself right in front of you, what's a guy to do? :D If I had said no, my man card may have been revoked and I almost certainly would have been tossed out of the Big Bore Addiction Group  That's what I told myself anyway ;)
Can't wait for it to arrive, should be here next week. Probably won't be able to afford to feed it for a while, but at least it has a home!

Congrats!!! Wow, what an addition to the family

I love mine, just can't shoot it as much as most of my other rifles due to shoulder punishment and cost. As much as I would like to own a Rigby, I can't it imagine it being 10 times better (cost for the Big Game) than the RSM. Just returned from DSC two weeks ago where I was able to fondle a couple of Rigbys! Owning a Rigby rifle is second only to hunting in Africa at least once before I get to old.

Work more hours to make more money to buy more guns.........vicious cycle! Lol
Congrats on the new bouncing baby Ruger. Just why in the hell did they quit making that fine rifle????

Man, am I ever with you Bullthrower! They really are what a rifle should be.
Mark Lang from Ruger is a friend and I have properly chastised him, although the RSM's were discontinued before his arrival. However, he did tell me they were tired of stuffing hundred dollar bills down the spout of every one they shipped. Sad, but true I guess. Hard to justify keeping a product in the line up that costs more to produce than you can sell it for :( Especially when you are a publicly traded company...
The same issue exists with their Red Label shotguns, only to a much lesser degree. Oh, and remember the the Ruger Gold Label? 2 years of production and then kaput. Bummer...

Everytime I see the Ruger guys I give 'em grief about discontinuing the RSM for those Hawkeyes......and the new Hawkeyes with that God awful brake????

I think the RSM is the best production rifle currently available on the used market.

You are absolutely right. Unless you jump up in the $5000 range, nothing else comes close in .416 Rigby caliber!

By far, they are going to very collectible guns, I have said it a number of times on AH.

IdaRam congrats on getting the Rugers. I am very partial to them all.

I had a CZ in .416 Rigby, a bit to punishing for me. I think I still have some Lyman dies in the garage if you're interested in buying them @IdaRam, just let me know.

Congrats on the 77RSM! I love mine!

The deer aren't so big here in the South, so I load the 350 grain RCBS bullet ahead of 30 grains of Trail Boss for a load that is easy shooting and just pummels everything I put it on.

JTEX, I'm with you, can't stand a muzzle brake on an otherwise good looking rifle!

Phil, If IdaRam isn't interested, I may be. The dies and any brass you may have. Just let me know. Thanks, David

Thanks guys! Should be here Thursday :)
PHOENIXPHIL, I still need some dies so, yes I am interested. Shoot me a PM if you like and let me know what you want for them.
I think I am going to be in the same boat as you with the recoil. It will be interesting to see how tolerable it is. My .375 RSM is a joy to shoot, recoil is a total non-event even with stout loads. My .338 Win Mag and .300 WSM are both far more punishing to shoot, so maybe the Rigby won't be too bad. Planning to start pretty mild on the loads.

Looks like @sierraone and I just crossed in cyberspace :) While I may be interested in the dies, I am not in any hurry. If David can put them to immediate use, no worries on my end. Either way, looks like one of us may be able to take them off your hands! (y)

IdaRam, I don't reload, but my son does. We are just now putting together the dies, powder, bullets and primers for my 375 H&H, but plan on him reloading some Rigby rounds in the future. For the next 6 mos to a year I will be concentrating on shooting the .375 and use it on a plains game hunt next year. The plans for steady work with the .416 fall after that most likely. So as you can see, I'm not in a hurry either. Since they were offered to you first, you have first right of refusal, only then will I jump in after hearing from Phil!

Well, the brown truck brought me a late Christmas present today :D My RSM .416 Rigby finally arrived! Just as advertised, brand new in the box and never fired. Perfect condition, not a mark on it and a pretty dang nice piece of wood to boot. My GF is looking at me like I'm a grinning, drooling idiot o_O OK, guilty
@PHOENIXPHIL - Um, about those dies :D

I understand! In what shop or web site did you find it?
