New Firearms Import Process ARGENTINA

No import issues, however, every source I have contacted has told me Argentina has an EXPORT ban on all indigenous game.

I want to say they did that about 5 years ago, it really turned me off to hunting in Argentina for big game and the little stuff. My friend shot a puma with MG hunting and then the ban went into effect and he never got it out of the country

I think the bird hunting is world class and still worth renting a gun and hunting.

Interesting little clause. Not sure I'd want to risk my trip on it though Rocket.

Please share the "wording" of this clause. Perhaps, it may be a method to use.

Let me tell you Wayne........the very same people of RENAR Deparment inplement this clause because they knew that was going to be trouble whith hunters.
In fact this is a old regulation that went into effect last year and they knew that many people didnt know this, themselves implemented the clause of the "only once time" to be not so estricted.
I called the Cordoba Renar This afternnon and they said that the "only one time" clause still remains in force.....so to put it clear........

If you come to Argentina with a fire gun for first time you can use the "only for this time" clause aproved for the RENAR.
If not the case you have to do the consullar job and they toll me that will be available to do it by the web in a short time......will see......!!!!

With respect to the natives trophies, Argentina is not allowing its export to anywhere in the world with exception of the Pumas from hatcheries.
You can hunt some natives trophies in some Provinces legaly but you cant move the trophie from the Province where you got them.
I have talk with Derek about this in some thread about this issue when He was looking for some information.

A truly shame the big amount of crap that they have implented and the operators are who will pay for.

Will see how this runs.

Thanks for checking on that.

What is the fee for this "once off clause"?

Wayne, the fee for the gun entrancy here is the same than last years, you have to paid in Pesos but is about US100 .
No extra fee if you use the clause here, but if you do the consullar thing in your country there is a fee for sure plus the regular fee here.......I dont know how much is the consullar fee but I guess that must be less than US100.....I will try to find out that.

You are rigth enysse, the natives trophies ban starts ending 2009/starting 2010......many trophies were trapped when the ban was......really bad.

So, what species (trophies) can I export from Argentina?
What are the government fees?
How long does it take?

Sorry Wayne, I start hunting daily and spend the day in the field for the next months, I have the chance to get in the forum late at nigth.
The species are next

Red Stag Deer
Axis Deer
Fallow Deer
Blackbuck
Water Bufalo
Russian boar and any wild Pig.....( no peccaryes )
Wild Goats
Wild Rams
Puma from breeders
Any exotic you can find in some high fenced ranch as Muflon and Pere David Deer

Thats all I guess and takes about five month to get the trophies at your home and the fees are very similar to the SA fees or less.

I was considering Argentina for my stag hunt but chose New Zealand instead because they also have elk. I am happy I did. I did have an outfitter at the DSC show last year tell me if I came to Argentina it was alot less hassle to rent a rifle.

@MG Hunting has there been any changes to the firearms import regulations and policies since I started this thread 4 years ago?

Here's hoping!
