Sitting in the airport on my way back from a four day pheasant hunt with Triple H Hunting in Colome South Dakota. What a good time. 9 of us took 108 pheasants in the four days and we filled all seven of our turkey tags. I had two of the turkey tags and took a good jake and a big hen. The weather was COLD, like 2 deg COLD!!! But the weather didn't slow down the hunting at all and we all had a great time.

Nice job! Those merriam's are pretty birds. Did they talk much?

Congratulations on your success.

That takes me back…

Congrats on the successful hunt. I can't wait for Thanksgiving when I can get after the deer, turkeys, ducks/geese, and some pheasants if I'm not too busy with all the other wildlife.

OK, now I'm jealous.

No they were surprisingly quiet. Probebly because it's not spring mateing season. The hunting was pretty much spot and stock (or run and gun). I might go back next year for a spring hunt when will they come to a call.

Who were the unlucky fellows that didn't get turkey tags?

Ahh yes ...... when spot and stalk turn into spook and shoot!!! Been there myself. Glad you had a good time!!

They guys that didn't put in for the draw. Everyone that put in during the draw period got one. I got two because I put in during two open draw periods.

Yes they are surprisingly fast and agile on the ground. And of course it illegal to shoot them at roost in the trees so it's most defiantly "spook and shoot". I like that analogy

Outstanding!!!!! When did you get to South Dakota? I was there 14 - 22 Nov. Where you at Sioux Falls airport the afternoon of 14 Nov? We hunted in Winer, about 15 miles from Colome, and had a blast as well. This was my son's first trip to SD, and he is hooked on it. LOL. I've been hunting that area since 2000. Check out my post.

We hunted nov 10-13 and flew through Rapid City. We had dinner in Winner the first night we got there and also went back up there one evening to do some shopping for warm clothes. Was it still cold when you were there?

It was brutally cold while we were there. One day I think it was Sat, it snowed on us, and it was coming down sideways. LOL. One of the days the high temp was 13 degrees. Brrrrrr. LOL!!!!!

Did you fly out 14 Nov? Were you guys at the airport restaurant? I want to say I saw you there.

Yes we flew out of Rapid City on the 14th and had a couple hours to kill so we were at the restaurant upstairs for awhile, small world.... Glad you guys had fun too. I am looking forward to going back when it's warm :)

Funny thing is that I suck with names, but I'm good with faces. My son and I were sitting about two tables away from you guys. It is a small world. I'm now waiting for my prepped venison to be shipped.
