with you there simon . i had forgotten about this till it popped up in my alerts box and i watched it again, and saw one of the "well placed" arrows sticking out of the buffs back end which i missed the first time around!!!! i prefer to replace dumbass with moronic

Disgrace and insult to word hunt

I was not a fan of this. It really irked me was they shot it with a bow that was ill-equipped to do it. Its just cruel to use something you know that doesn't have the power to make an effective kill.

I just saw this for the first time.. What cowardice. I'm disgusted by all of those involved with this so-called "hunt"!

I don't believe it was two rogue bulls that broke through the fence, I think they were used to being fed from the landcruiser, he was just playing, while waiting to get his daily snack....there's a similar clip of a lioness being shot in the same way.

A sad video for the true hunters among us. No excuse for the client to do any of the above, PH/Outfitter should be banned from hunting ever again. Hard to understand that a client would spend so much money for a Safari and settle for this as his ultimate African experience.

In other words, the person with the wheelie-arrow-machine, stuck a pre-pubescent lad.

Also, I agree with Red Leg in that this young bullock was obviously begging for food, not charging at all.

DAMAGE CONTROL

So when a relatively recent post cropped up on this thread, I re-read through some of the replies and noticed that nobody except myself mentioned the apparent tender age of this buffalo (initially I had posted that I thought his bosses looked soft).

Therefore I decided to go back and have another peek at the video.

Previously I became so put off by it that I turned it off without watching very much.

This time, I watched it to almost the point where someone looses the first arrow and then I paused it to have a good look at the animal.

This time I see that the bull, although not exactly an old timer, does appear to have solid bosses, in spite of the fact that they are not grown tightly together (seems like some buffalo bulls never grow their bosses tightly together, no matter how old the bull, and then of course some do).

Anywhooo, none of that is a very important point because the real point is that: the fact remains that the people in this video have damaged the world hunting community's reputation with their juvenile behavior.

We need to be very careful how we present ourselves to this crazy world because there are those who are gagging for any excuse to shut us down and prefer us to waste away our spare time by playing ball games and to buy our meat from a store (AKA: Hell on Earth).

The bad thing is the video on U Tube this video has been watched 66,000 times. I question is the one they shot with the 375 the same one that they shot with the bow? The horns don't even look the same?

No worries Steve, You will have a real hunt and an ethical one. A real buffalo hunt is one of the finest experiences that a hunter can have. And you will be producing a ton of meet for local folks that will really appreciate it. (Often their diet is lacking in protein.)

I'm disappointed to see this video on AH.

We make ourselves an easy target for our critics. The diologue is even worse than the Video. Yappy jackasses bragging it up like the were the real deal. Very ignorant. Brian

I think you're missing the point as to why it was posted. I promise you it wasn't posted to be viewed as a hunting promotional video. We cannot ignore the ugly side of the industry. Due to this, I absolutely think this video has a place here, as much as the video itself turns my stomach.
