Crocodile skin back from the taxidermist. Dad got his croc back from the Taxidermist.. Holy crap !

Sorry the detail is not so good but his color is amazing. 14 ft. Taken in Zim, 2011.

Very nice, hadn't thought about hunting croc much until now ....

Looks Nice Jane...

14 foot long is it?

I have thought about this kind of mount, Are the legs a tripping hazard?

Way cool Janey, thanks for sharing.

Yes James, definitely a tripping hazard, they have yet to move him to a permanent place. When they measured him yesterday it was 14+. The croc seemed smaller when my dad got him but then I imagine once he's all stretched-out and tanned he gained some inches.. It's really cool.

Very, very nice!!!! Love the look....

James,

As a kid I had a bearskin rug in my room. It was one that my grandfather gave to my mother and it started in their bedroom. That is until my father stuck his foot in the bear's mouth in the dark while on the way to the bathroom, one too many times!

Your "hazard" question made me think of that. :)

I have only experienced a vacuum cleaner (way too many times) and the occasional chair in my nighttime adventures but I could only imagine and dread what a bear's tooth-filled mouth would feel like.. NOT very nice I'm sure. Fortunately the area where the croc is is not in a danger zone. Thank God his mouth is not open.. Ughh

Let's just say that my father doesn't curse. I believe he made exceptions for that bear! :)

Their room was too small and the head was right in the path. Worked out great for me though. Having that bear in my room was awesome!!!!

Nice!!! I love all of the mounts, I would fill my house with them, I have so far.... Here are some quick pics of my eland and my water buck. Just waiting for some help to mount them on the wall. Finally received them yesterday from Woods and Water. I hope to have some better shots soon once I have them on the wall. It was a great day. Lots of reminiscing with my dad about our time in Zim.

From what I can see they both look really nice. It seems that taxidermist like to make Eland in particular look like a donkey. Yours looks great though! Love the muscling.

Haha! Never looked at it like that but if so, he's one Big Ass!!! It is a crappy angle and terrible lighting for the photo though, hopefully once I get him up on the wall he will look more fierce. I think they did a pretty decent job, I'm happy with the way he turned-out. Many thanks though! I am very pleased just to have him in my home..

Hey Janey they look pretty good, can't wait to see them on your wall.

Great Croc! Here is an idea, my taxidermist mounted my sons gator on two pieces of 3/4" plywood and painted it black. Love the way it looks. He shows everybody when they come over.

Very cool.
Never thought of a croc mount like that.

The other mounts look good so far. Hope that you are happy with them.

The taxidermist has got your eland spot on..great job.

the eland and water buick look great janey
but that croc is real, real cool .
your old man will have some good times reliving that monster each time he looks at him.
looking forweard to seeing the big ass on the wall, mate

Jane,

As I'm looking at the croc again I'm wondering why your dad chose to do it mouth closed?

Just curious. Was that just the look he liked?

Funny you should ask that, my dad did want the mouth open but of course everything doesn't always go as planned. Perhaps it will be better in the long run.. Would have been cool to have it open though.
