I had a great time on vacation in Sunny Namibia. It was approximately 30 hours of travel one way to get to the other side of the planet. It was exciting to see the animals we only see in Zoo's in the states out in the wild.
With the increased wind in August, hunting was tough. I tracked Zebra for 3+ days, but was unsuccessful. We didn't even get a chance to look for a Kudu. I did end up getting a Red hartebeest that I was excited to take!

My friend Luke took this nice Gemsbok Bull:

My friend Ray also took a Gemsbok Bull the following day:

As well as this huge 53+"blue wildebeest the following day:

I was fortunate to get this blue wildebeest hunt on video!
Finally on the last day, we all hunted in a blind for the last 4 hours of hunting... laughing, joking, and having an amazing time. To our surprise, Impala came in and Matt and Luke were able to take 2 at the same time! All caught on video... including the story after :)

Hope you enjoyed reading about my experience to Namibia!

Thanks for posting your report.
Sounds like you put the effort in and had a good time.

I was amazed at the distances we walked. I would estimate 30-40 miles during the week of hunting!

It was not very tough as it is so dry there. No sweat made the walks a breeze. I really enjoyed it!

Congrats for a good hunt, and thanks for sharing !

Congrats! Those Gemsbok appear huge to me as well as the Red Hartebeest.

No Kudu, but what a Gemsbuck´s Chris......huge.....all the trophies are very good animals......!!!!

Congratulations for your hunt....!!!!

The Kudu we never even got to hunt. I was somewhat disappointed, but I was happy that we really had to work hard to get each trophy.

The zebra eluded me all week. Once I was on the lead stallion of a group, (which looked unreal in size) but could not take him as the PH mentioned it would negatively affect the family group. It was almost painful to put the safety back on and pull off the sticks when he told me this. That was the last real shot I had on any Zebra.

I tracked over 3 days and saw them mostly run away. We had a group of Hartaman's Zebra come in and stand broadside for 10 minutes after the Blue wildebeest was taken, however they were at quota for their Hartaman's for this year, so I could not take any of those either.

Sounds like a great trip .Where were you in Namibia and who did u hunt with ?

Bummer about the zebra and kudu. The trophies you got look great. Thanks for sharing the photos, videos and your story.

All the best.

Sound like you had a good time...

What a Bummer about the zebra...

I am at a loss of words for when you booked your safari, that you did not have the mtn zebra on your package. That would have been a priority for me.

Seems to me you had a good hunt with good trophies. A pitty not be able to hunt Zebra or kudu. Ashame that you had opportunities on the zebra but due to quota you couldnt hunt one. When a client book a safari with a wishlist you normally really try to give them an opportunity on their wishlist.
But yes - that is hunting! A good reason to come back for another hunt to Africa.

I hunted with JP in 2012, with African Days. Loved it. It was my first African Experience. Sounds like you guys had a great time. We hunted late September. Shot 11 animals over 10 days with 4 0f us hunting. Looks like you had Marius with you in the castle. Were you guys hunting Okaseka property?
