Important Firsts in Life

Wheels,

I am convinced that the ENTIRE auto industry, from manufacturing through dealerships/sales, insurance, repair and maintenance, etc., etc., was designed around the concept of totally RIPPING OFF the consumer.

So, I must say that spike.t's first car only inspires me to yawn, precisely like my first vehicle does (1956 International pickup / one headlamp held in via duct tape).

I apologize for my obvious cynicism,
Velo Dog.
Am I the only one that went WOW to spike.t's first car?

Mine,
Car - Grand Prix
First gun - M70 - 220 Swift. (It can be partially seen in my avatar) First bought myself - Remington 870, 12g
Record - Not sure but probably The Who. Current phone ringtone "Who are you"
Animal - Kingfisher with a slingshot. 7 years old. Mammal - dik dik. 8 years old.

Dear Wheels (and spike.t),

With my apology to both of you, as well as to any other fancier of cars.............if Bombay Sapphire had not been on sale yesterday, I would have instead written:

When I think about all the money that the Automobile Industry has choked out of me in my lifetime, I get grouchy but, I have to admit that the Lamborghini is a pretty cool car.

Stay on that front sight,
Velo Dog.

VD no probs , and you need to transfer to grey goose orange vodka from the gin stuff ,its not nicknamed mothers ruin for nothing :D also good to see plenty of rock music afficionados on here! (y) could have done with one of the old "rock on" smileys from the old days.....:(

First car- 1966 ford f-150 bought from my grandfather for 300.00 (wish I still had it)

First gun I bought myself- Spingfield 1903 30-06AI sporter. Still have it although it's pretty much a safe queen.

First record- either Kiss Hyway to Hell or Foreigner Rumors not sure

First animal hunted- California quail. If not counting all the squirrels, dickey birds, grass hoppers and other misc critters that fell to a Benjamin ,22 air rifle.

Spike.T,

That's Mister VD to you.

Went to the local spirits store and they had Grey Goose products aplenty but no orange flavor.
Will try again one day soon.
Have yet to try fruit flavor cocktail or liquor of any sort that I really liked except properly made sangria and I suppose one could argue that sangria is or is not technically a cocktail, all night long.
I will however give the stuff you endorse a try soon as I find it.
Incidentally, I have to be careful with sweet food and drink because I am already so sweet that I have to fight off bees and women wherever I go.

Meanwhile, "Vitamin G" is good for a bloke.
Justp looke hear an sea whata guldang genus it maid uv me.
Besides, it has made me look every bit a youthful 61 but I am actually 122 years old.

Cheers,
El Doggo.

It is good to hear that do many people have such fond and vivid memories of these parts of their life.

@Sable123 : that Land Rover Defender is one badass car. Not exactly my cup of tea for a suv (I prefer the Range Rover) but I love the look of the Defender and would definitely get one over a Hummer H2.

First car: 71 Mercury Montego two door
Gun: Smith and Wesson 38 Detective Special
Record: willie Nelson Stardust
Animal: rabbit

First hunting trip: uncle took me to Waynesboro GA on a dove hunt.

Hi Saul,

To be honest I bought the Defender from a PH buddy of mine because it was a bargain and came with plenty of camping equipment but my GOODNESS how i love that machine now. The places we have gone in it are incredible and the 4x4 system is excellent. Don't think i'll ever sell, in fact I may buy one for my wife  Im going to post some photos in another thread of what we get up to in Okavango Delta with our Land Cruisers (another excellent vehicle.)
Cheers

Still an awesome car. I would love to see some pics of it too. If I'm not looking at guns, I'm looking at cars. How do I get any work done?
