Current Mozambique ammunition allowance?

Hi Guys,

I am going to Moz in August 2014 and am checking the ammo allowance.

In some places it reads 60 rounds per cal., in others it reads 100 rounds per cal.

If anyone has authoritative and up to date information, please could they share it?

Two sources I trust:

• Only 2 rifles and 1 shotgun per hunter are allowed into Mozambique
• Semi automatic, automatic firearms or military style weapons are prohibited
• A maximum of 100 rounds of ammunition per firearm is allowed


Mozambican law restricts the import of a maximum of two rifles and one shotgun per person for hunting purposes.
Additionally, each person is permitted a maximum of 100 rounds of weapon-specific ammunition.
Permits are not required for bows.

I am sharing a .300WM with another hunter. We both have the same rifle (serial no etc) listed on our UK licences and are traveling together. Does this mean that we can take 100 .300wm rounds as a total between the two of us?
 
Damn, thats a new one on me.
I would save myself the hassle and assume you are stuck with 100 rounds per firearm.

If you want to push it. I'd ask the Outfitter.
They are going to be applying for your import permits for you anyway.
Perhaps it's possible, but...
(Unless you read and write Portuguese)
 
Thank you. We'll probably play it safe and take 100 for the .300wm and 100 for the .375H&H. That should cover us if we manage to get through the.300 ammo! Never like to be light on shells....

If you guys burn through two hundred rounds in a short stay I'd be amazed.

My main concern is burning rounds on baboons....that always seems to rack up a pile of brass!!
