Bushbuck Pictures

I am hoping to take a limpo and cape bushbuck on this trip in aug. Maybe even with the bow if we can get some to come out to the waterholes at noon when they think we are resting.Would one day like to hunt some of the other types to like chobe bushbuck.

Chobe Bushbuck ranks quite high on my overall list! Gorgeous creatures.

That sounds like a great idea jaco. That would be just like hunting our whitetail here at home.I just like it will give me something to do in the afternoon other then nap.pieter said they move alot during mid day when most guys are back at the lodge.I think taking one with a bow would be awesome to do.You think a blind on the trail would work to

I took one just before lunch and one bright and early. I have seen several on the way back to the lodge for lunch and really havent spent much time at all in good bushbuck country.

Bushbuck recovery, the guys work hard to get them out .

Are those pics of the Limpopo River area ?

Nyati
No Sir, the Eastern Cape, close to a place called Patensie.
I think UPTONOGOOD shot a Bushbuck on the same property

The pic's really show how they got the name bushbuck. That is some thick cover and I can see why they are one of the harder animals to take.

Some of the fine Bushbuck rams taken with KMG Hunting Safaris during the 2013 Season:

Very nice rams Marius, I will be in your area at the end of April.

Ok marius I get it you have some nice rams around. You dont have to be so mean about it and show all the nice pic's.LOL Teasing people like that is unfair when I am thousands of miles away.Get back to building your new place and take a pic of you working to cheer me up now. :D For the record I would be happy with any of those rams.Great job getting your hunters on them

I did see that looks like he almost lost an eye.Do they fight alot during the ruttting season.

Here is a picture of my 2011 Bushbuck taken in the East Cape. My PH told me he was 13-14 yrs old. Teeth were almost gone. Hair was thin. Just a very old animal. Also a picture of the area we were hunting in. Different than most. Hunt the deep draws with heavy cover.Africa 2011 103.jpgAfrica 2011 086.jpg ignore the bottom pic. Have tried to remove it and can't..... Bruce

Bruce, which area is this? Quite surprised that Bushbuck are found there, as there is not much cover. Compare this to where we hunt them...

A couple of Bushbuck from KZN in 2007.

An old ram they had been after a while. I got lucky and spotted him on a hillside as he got up to stretch from a nap. Notice the heavy bases!

Sandy's great ram. We didnt recover him until dark the day before (That story is a good one!) We posed him that night so we could take pictures the next day. Where she got him was in some of the thickest bush I've ever been in!

Typical of the country we hunted in KZN - Looks alot like Marius's picture.
