Am I Weird Or Something About Horn Size & Shape

It would be fun to make some polls related to this thread and post pics of different sized and shaped horns and see what people like the most :)
I leave that to someone else as I don't have access to lots of trophy pics ;)

Oh that would be very fun.. I second that idea. :clapping:

I think you liked this Springbuck a lot.

Jaco could not have put it any better ... He has time to sit in front of the computer .... :)Some of us have to work .... You can get a Kudu with 45" horns that will not never go any bigger irrespective of its age ... You can also shoot a 60 inch which might have gone to 65 " . It is primarily about genetics and secondly about habitat. You can relate that to Elk as well . Why do certain areas bring the 400 plus class bulls ... The genetics is there . Some other areas would never produce any .
Yes we should hunt the animal not the tape ....

You can have a successful hunt without firing a shot . It is a total experience . If Jaco is right about past prime I might have to start lying low .... :)

Happy hunting !!

Agree 100% genetics and habitat plays the big role.

The Kudu in the first pic would be the one I want the most with the third Kudu as a very close contender(very hard to choose between them really and I would be very happy with either of them). Kudu in second pic comes far behind the other 2 for me.

So you would pick, A or B but not C...

I'll wait for a couple more and give it away... :)

I think my choice would be A or C, but not B if the order is A B C :)
As said earlier, I don't care about inches, so I am not bothered to guess about that :)
I like the shape of the horns of the first(A) the most
The third(C) looks like the oldest most worn down animal and the second(B) looks like it is rather young even if the horns are long with ivory tips, but I am far from being a Kudu expert and don't really have much of a clue other than what impression I get when looking at the pics :)

I was thinking the same thing.post two pic's of each animal and see which one gets picked more.I think we need to call on brickburn as he like that kind of stuff and he has nothing else to do.lol

LOL must be nice eh

All are dead so I guesss all are grood choices.

I say 3 - 1 - 2 oldest to youngest

Brickburn!!!!!!! We need your help!!!! :) ;) :) ;)

I can get a couple together in the morning but for now I am cooking for the missus and my little one... Aaaahhhh the joys!

Appreciate it while I'm here though! :)

The :cook2: looks the youngest in C most overgrown in B and the most current in A ..... I would probably be a better judge on the Cook than on the Kudu .... Remember not in prime anymore ... Eyes are failing .

I am taking first one as the biggest but second oldest and 56" the second one as the youngest and about 53".The third as either the same age as the first or just alittle older. He gets shoot just because how wide he is.I am saying 52" on him

fredi I would say this is what I like and kind of what you posted also.First ram myson shot I think was young but was heavy horned and very nice. The second I took and is longer and older.

My goal would be to have my son take all 4 and get to as near as the one I shoot size and shape wise.

I'd go with A, deep curls get my attention. If it had spread like C, it'd be even better, but I'd take it as is with a big grin on my face.

What if I was to say that all 3 bulls were within 2 inches of one another so from the largest to the smallest there is no more than a two" difference....:)

My choice would still be the same. While I'd be curious to know the overall measurement, I can't see being disappointed.

I would be interested in it if you pass. Please send me the info on the gun shop if you do not buy it. I have the needed ammo and brass.
Thanks,
Ross
