Hunted
England year round and Namibia x5.
I am looking for a seven day plains game hunting trip in Namibia within the first two weeks in August 2015. (Flight schedules are not yet available for exact dates.)

I would like an all inclusive package deal for myself hunting and also my wife and twelve year old (in 2015) daughter.

It must be within a reasonable distance of Windhoek so we don't have to travel too far after our flights.

I would like to hunt a Kudu, Gemsbok, Impala and Springbok with the option of a fifth animal, likely a Zebra if luck and time are with me. I am happy to pay list price for this if the opportunity arises.

We would like there to be a swimming pool and the opportunity for some walking, sightseeing if my family don't want to accompany me on every hunt.

My daughter has expressed an interest in trying hunting and some outfitters have offered a non trophy animal for the kitchen as a way of introducing a new hunter to the experience, if this is an option so much the better.

We are social drinkers and enjoy the odd beer or glass of wine, especially with meals so drinks in moderation should be included.

I do not want to pay extra for inches. In my research, I note some outfitters offer a price for a certain horn length and then increase it after a certain length is reached. I believe in taking the right animal, not the biggest and the size of the trophy is luck of the draw.

I plan on bringing my own rifle

I do not want to hunt in a fenced off area.

If you can help with the above, I would be please to hear from you!

Looks like this will be your 1st trip. Sounds like a good hunt, im sure someone will make you a great deal. Good luck.

Thank you, yes it is my first trip and eagerly anticipated!

Adrian - Why don't you check out Ozondjahe? If I was planning for a Namibia hunt that is where I would start. It is fenced but the area is so vast - like 100,000 acres.

Have a good time planning!

Try Keerweder Safaris. My wife and I had a great time in 2012. Can't wait to go back!

Hi Adrian,
I am currently on the road. I will send you a pm when I get back tomorrow. We have an area in Nam that is 100K acres low fenced with all that you require.

Take Care,

Hi Adrian,

Sounds like you already have a pretty good plan of what you want. August can be a bit cool for a dip in the pool. Drop me a PM and I'll send some information over to you. I have a nice family run operation that may be a great fit for your hunt.

Well since we're making recommendations I'll say that my wife and I used Eitaalo.

Eitaalo is run by a husband and wife team and they know how to treat first timers and hunting couples - we were both!

The hunting is fenced if you count ranches of 40,000 acres as being fenced - the hunting is free ranging with the fences being the borders of the ranches.
I likened it to deer hunting rural farmland here in the US - the farms have fences but the deer run wherever they please.

Eitaalo is located 30 miles from Windhoek which saves a TON of time getting to and from the airport. You are wise to consider this; Eitaalo's location saved us a day at each end of our visit.
They have a nice set of 3 guest houses and a large lodge.
They have a swimming pool but we didn't use it - too cold.
Every evening was a gourmet meal followed by a camp fire with the family and that social drinking you mentioned.

Check them out.

.......

Exactly what you should do when asked. Glad you jumped in and shared your information and experience.

You can see what fun I had right here.

Good luck in your search. There are some great outfitters in Namibia.

Thank you Gents, I have looked at Ozondjahe but they don't do package deals in August and unfortunately I'm bound by school holidays. :(

Try Keerweder Safaris. My wife and I had a great time in 2012. Can't wait to go back!

Thank you, I have Keerweder on my list of potentials!

Hi Steve, thank you, Eitaalo is also on my list to contact and as you say, the location is very good. :)

What ever you do go with the flow enjoy the flights and have fun. Africa isn't a trip it's an experience that you'll want to do over and over!

Hi Marius,
Yes, thank you.
I have got a couple of emails but for some reason I can't open them (the images) on my phone or works computer. I am away from home currently and will look at them when I can get back my machine early next week.

Adrian

I only got to read your post now. Are you still looking for a place to hunt?

Best regards
Louw

I would be interested in it if you pass. Please send me the info on the gun shop if you do not buy it. I have the needed ammo and brass.
Thanks,
