Are these useful to carry extra round for my .375 H&H? I am doing a Buffalo hunt and I was thinking of getting one.

I have called Trader Keith's and African Sporting Creations several times and left messages to inquire and no calls back.

It is a bit frustrating.

Is there anywhere else to get a decent leather one or a leather canvas one?

I bought the Galco one. 99 bucks. Looks pretty nice.

I have a handful of the C1s that I use for plains game and hunting in North America. For DG I like his 10 round C2s both in leather and elastic. I carry them on one of his belts that measure an 1 3/4' wide. 10 softs, 10 solids can easily fit in the belt plus a knife and what ever one likes to carry with them. If I am getting in the truck with more then one rifle I have extra slides for that rifle in a back pack and they can be quickly changed out.

l will say that while listening to Ivan Carter lecture he said nothing with a flap, like you suggest, and he had a cartridge belt as one of the three most important gear items, along with a rifle and good boots. Who am I to argue??? :)

The C1s have flaps the C2s do not I agree with Mr.Carter 100% no flaps .......

AR Meister there's a oyung man locally making some, not as fancy as linked, also not as expensive. Where are you located?
I can send you one, take it to Africa, if you are not satisfied, send it back, full refund. along with comments on design changes, etc. He's a young guy that's just starting.

I'm going in July PG hunt eastern cape, and I'm taking one too...

PM me your details, I'm in Coastal Georgia, USA

Got mine before I knew this... I've practiced a lot with open the flap and pulling out shells. I have a CZ, so I also have five in the magazine, which is a plus. If I was a PH I would have already bought another and will get a different type next time for sure. this .458 Lott keeps calling out to me.... ;)

The goal is to practice what ever the type of shell holder you are using.
If the Gods are smiling you will have a one shot kill, if they are laughing you will be shooting running and reloading these are the times that quality practice comes into play.
If you have the ability to set up multiple targets say 50yrd, 30yrds and 20yrds, start with a full gun magazine and chamber topped off. If you have a shot timer more the better. Shoot the 50 off of sticks then off hand the 30 and the 20 reload and shoot the 20, 30, and 50 off hand. If you have a belt slide that snaps have it closed (if this is the way you will approach your Buff) when you start this drill.
The purpose of the shot timer is that it will put pressure on you as you reload if you want to put further pressure on your skills do a bunch of jumping jacks to elevate your heart rate and breathing than shoot the drill. if you have the ability set up two sets of these targets far enough away so after you shoot the first three targets you have to move to the next set of targets reloading on the way even better.
If you are a re-loader this is a good place to shoot reduced loads occasionally.
Have fun practicing it will put you in a good place before the start of your Safari.

We did drills that were very similar to this at SAAM. This, in addition to snap cap drills, is in my plan. Lots of topping off and moving practice will be done before my safari.
