Found this site and had to join. Hunting Africa has been a life long dream. A couple of weeks ago I finally picked up a beautiful Ruger No. 1 tropical in 458 Winchester. Had it to the range last week and enjoyed it - felt alive! I'm a big bore junkie but this was a whole new level. I may or may not ever get to Africa but at least I can dream and participate with those of you that do.

Welcome 1895gunner! Just like someone told me when I first started hunting. You cant hit anything unless you pull the trigger! So you will never make it to the dark side unless you pull the trigger and go! You will then go again. No matter how old you are, you aint getting any younger! Enjoy this great place called AH!

Love the rifle by the way! Love my Rugers!

444P Outfitter 444 Marlin
1895G Guide Gun 45/70
1895GS Guide Gun 45/70
1895M Guide Gun 450 Marlin

I get it. I was thinking Winchester, not Marlin. Nice guns you have there. I have one of the more rare model Marlins, the 1895 MR in .450 Marlin. The longer barreled one, with pistol grip stock. I think they only made it for a couple of years. Shoots like a house afire! With my 2x scope I have shot sub-MOA groups with it. Most accurate lever gun I have ever owned by far.
